Got rear ended on 12/10/17. Continued low back pain. Tried to play 12/26/17 but could not get to my left side. Shot 88 by parring the last 4 holes.
I was miserable the rest of the day, on the floor on my back.
Getting treatment (massage) that’s helping.
Going to try to play next week.
I’m angry because I moved to Tucson so I could play golf all winter in some decent weather.

- Where
    Juniper Golf Club Redmond, Or
- Weather
It was around freezing and got cold throughout the round.
- How long since your last round (some of you it will be 1 day :( )
I played 12-31-2017 It was around 45 and Sunny
- How you played vs. how you normally play
We played a Backward Par 3. Tee off from the 9th Tee to the 8th Green. 8th tee to the 7th green and so on. It would have been more fun if it had not been so cold. There were 2 hole in ones.
- Anything else you want us to know
The ground was mostly frozen, so you had to play some interesting shots.

Second round of year was a little better
Kearney Hill Lexington Ky. Pete Dye links style
Wind started around 15 finished 25-30 the last 12 or so.
Fairways and greens went up about 30% from round 1
-1 of through 15, screwed up and doubled 16 shot 74
8 better than round 1
Now we have snow, and I think I'm closed out for at least 10 days.

Haven't been able to get out yet but my last round in 2017 during the Christmas break was a 78, so hoping that continues in 2018.

Played 9 holes this morning for the first time since Thanksgiving.  Overcast weather in the mid 50s with 15-20mph winds.  Course was wet so the greens were miserably slow.  Shot +2 with some saving up and downs.  Looking forward to a full 18.

First two rounds have been 68 (-3) and 69 (-2). Hopefully it’ll continue!
As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.

First time out this year and only second time touching the clubs since Thanksgiving weekend.

Windchill was negative 10 Fahrenheit last Saturday, so the mid-20s windchill today is a veritable heatwave.

Who'd have thought that mid-20s with sustained winds would be thought of as good weather, but I had to take advantage.

Shot a 44 from my usual tees.  Which is a nice 9 holes for me.

If the winds keep up, it's going to be a tough day for passing in the Eagles/Falcons game in a few hours, which will be played less than 7 miles away as the crow flies.

Guess that'll benefit the Wentz-less Eagles in trying to keep up with Matty Ice.

Course - Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

Date - January 3rd. Had a three week break from golf.

Weather - Pretty much perfect conditions. Sunny, light breeze and 25 degrees Celsius and the course in great shape.

Score - 84 which is a decent but not great score for me. Started of with a ball in water and a double bogey, but I had one birdie on the back 9. Rest were pars and bogeys.

Played a lot of golf during my vacation in UAE, but now I'm back home again and there's going to be a longer break from golf. Season usually starts somewhere around mid-March here in southern Finland.

First full round yesterday, shot a nice 81. Only a three putt and some tree trouble that ended in a lost ball kept me from breaking 80 for the first time.

Be sure to post your first round of the new year. 1/6/2018

- Where: Orange Park CC, Orange Park Fl

- Weather: 48 degrees with a NE wind up to 16

- How long since your last round: 2 weeks but typically play 2 times a week

- How you played vs. how you normally play: Typically shoot 68-75 from the tips here. We played the blue tee's because of the weather at 6487 versus the tips at 6935. I played some really bad golf, never hit the face of the club all day, had this ugly little push cut going all day long. Got up and down a bunch which saved my score a little. Shot 80

- Anything else you want us to know: 2018 and my golf game is in a bad place right now. Everything I hit is a push cut and I can't get rid of it, And my putting sucks. And, I am not a range guy! lol

Got out this weekend. Never before shot in the 80s. Dropped an 89, which included a quad and 3 three-putts (none happened on the quad). Great start for 2018 as I already have accomplished one of my yearly goals.

Played 3 rounds so far this year.

86 with two doubles on the back
85 played consistent all day
88 in blistering wind and 40 degree temps.  Had no business even being out that day.  Wished I would have stayed home.

Still struggling to take the feel of my swing in my home range to the course consistently.  Work in Progress!  Feeling positive about some of the changes I've made and think spring golf will be even better.  Looking to drive my GHIN down below 10 this year (2018 goal).

Yesterday was finally a decent day to get out to a little muni course in Philadelphia that worked with schedule.First time since early November. A very comfortable 50 degrees and partly cloudy. Usually shoot low 80's, shot an 88 but with the course the way it was I was just happy to get out and play. First quarter inch of the greens were soaking wet, with a nice layer of frozen soil underneath. Couldn't hold a green with an approach shot outside of 50 yards as the ball would bounce 20ft in the air. If you were working close to the greens you got no roll and putts were rolling like they were going through mud. Still beat any other Sunday sitting on the couch wishing i could be out playing!

Mine was at the Golf Club at La Quinta (the old Trilogy property) on Sunday, 1/14. The last previous time I played was the first weekend of December.  Playing off the back tees (70.9/124) I was pretty happy to shoot 77.  Coming in at a 5 handicap, that was much better than I had expected.  Overall, I had a good trip to the Palm Springs area, 5 rounds out of 6 in the 70s, and my HI will be down a couple of tenths.

Weather: Bluebird Day and 50 degrees

How long since your last round (some of you it will be 1 day :( ): 5 years

How you played vs. how you normally play: I pieced together a set of what I had laying around that wasn't a blade. I had gone to the range the day before and just didn't feel confident enough to game my Mizuno T-Zoid blades. Overall, I played how I wanted which was 1 over on every hole and ended up shooting 88 thanks to the putter form still being there. I used to be a scratch golfer so I have a bit to go, but it appears all the work should mainly be in regards to the short game.

Anything else you want us to know: I have the bug again. I have since been to the range about 8 times and I apparently hit the ball better and longer despite being fatter, less athletic, and definitely less flexible. The main noticeable difference is my short game which I guess was to be expected. I used to be able to basically pull off any shot around the green, but right now every 1 out of 4 shots is a duff right. Working on fixing it when I have free time whether at my local course or in the backyard.

I was impressed, I was expecting a full day worth of hosel rockets. I didn't even get any actual range time before the round other than 10 shots really quick with my Cleveland CG14 gap wedge. I think by just committing to staying within myself and not thinking, "well, this is how I used to do it", I was able to keep the ball in play and manageable. I wasn't bombing the driver, I really backed off on them off the tee, but they were in play and almost always within a manageable 7 iron distance. Probably the most important parts were that I didn't make a mess of any of the Par 3's/5's and I didn't 3-putt anything.

I am sure the 88 is part of the reason I have the bug again, I expected nothing, and I got nothing but enjoyment.

Perfectly content since the wind was howling and I hadn't played in a month. I never liked 6 and shouldn't have hit driver there, and 14 was just an atrocious 3-iron.

January 21. Shot an unexpected 3 over par despite the greens being partly frozen on the front 9. Helped by an eagle on a medium length par 4. I have now holed out from over 50 yards 3 times in about the last 200 rounds when I had not done that once in the previous 2500+ rounds. If I wasn't a 'glass half empty' kind of person I might think my first hole in one has to be somewhere on the horizon.

Played my fourth round of 2018 today.

Tiffany Greens in KC, MO.  59 degrees but windy as hell.  Gusting up to 25mph.  Pretty warm and I'll take any golf in January in Missouri.

Hole 1 (par 5), hit a 6 iron right to the middle of the fairway.  You have to lay up on this hole due to water.  Its usually around 230+ to carry to go for the pin.  Most of the time I lay up in a separate fairway with my second shot.  Today with such a strong wind at my back I threw a nice 3 wood up off the carpet that bounced just over the green.  One chip + two putts for par.

Birdied 4.  Took a couple doubles cuz my putting sucked and the wind was brutal.  Had alot of iron shots balloon up and fall short.

Overall shot an 85.  Not bad for me.  Showing a lot of improvements in my game.  Looking good for driving down that GHIN in 2018!

47 on the front 9 from the whites.
At Cedar Crest in Dallas, TX.
60 degrees and quite windy.
About six weeks since my last round.
I played okay, except my short game. Chipping and pitching were unbelievably rusty.
I walked. (I plan to walk more in 2018.). I couldn’t find a playing partner. I loathe solo rounds.
Married to Callaway Clubs but I cheat with Nike Clubs on occasion.

1/21: Indian Hills in Murfreesboro, TN. Around 55°. It had easily been 1 1/2-2 months sine I last played. Shot 35 (-1) by birds on three of the last four holes. I hope that this is saying my winter putting practice is paying off. Also, put a new 3wd in play, Srixon F65 with a Rogue Silver shaft.

I'm not a saver of cards, but the tough courses I do. Should have a line on the card for the amount of Heineken consumed. That would be 10+......

First round of the year today at my home club (Lake Hickory CC).  Weather was low-to-mid 40s, overcast, with a touch of spitting rain off and on.  Have been able to get out and hit balls a few times, but we’ve had a snowstorm and some other wet weather, so the course itself has been pretty soggy.  Shocked myself by shooting 74 today—3 birdies, 5 bogies, 10 pars.  Tied my personal best!
