Planning our honeymoon currently... Wife to be plays as well, so don't worry I am not doing anything wrong with asking this. Starting the trip off down at Pebble for 2 days (Pebble & Spyglass), then up to Napa for 5 days. What are some courses up in the Napa / Sonoma area that we may wanna play if we get the itch / have had enough wine after 3-4 days?

Thanks for the help!

(FYI this isn't happening until November / December of 2018)

Aetna Springs. A literal diamond in the rough.  Fantastic 9 holer, but it's the closest thing to golf nirvana in NorCal (other than the Monterey Peninsula).

Sonoma is excellent. You also should take a little trip across to Northwood, another superb 9 holer deep in the redwoods designed by Dr Mackenzie. And Yocha Dehe is worth looking at despite not being in the Napa Valley itself.

Yes ... Mayacama is private and you would need to know a member or have your pro call.

Stay at the Sonoma Mission Inn and play st Sonoma Golf Club.

Meadowood is another very nice place with a 9-hole course (not a great course, but it's golf).

Your bride will like both of those places.

If you catch a stretch of good weather, Sonoma Golf Club is outstanding.  They used to play the Champions Tour, end of the year championship there

+1 on Aetna Springs. You'll feel like you have the course to yourself. Be sure to grab a cheeseburger in the clubhouse after the round!

I thought Myacama was destroyed in the recent fire.  I’d double check any place in wine country.

That's not correct.  You may be thinking of Fountaingrove.

There is really no reason to go to Napa or Sonoma for golf.  We go on wine trips almost every year and have stopped going to Napa because it's so crowded and expensive (tasting fees $30 -60), so our focus has shifted to Sonoma and Paso Robles.

Rather than play golf in Napa/Sonoma, I would expand your time in the Monterey area to play other good courses such as Spanish Bay, Pasatiempo, Poppy Hills and Bayonet Black Horse.  And maybe Half Moon Bay.   I would then take the beautiful drive down HW 1 to the Cambria / San Simeon area and take in the spectacular Hearst Castle.  Then spend a few days at the wineries around Paso Robles.  They have dozens of great wineries there that are not crowded and the tasting fees are cheap. Cambria or Morro Bay would be wonderful places to honeymoon.

Just my thoughts.

If you have time in Monterey, consider Poppy Hills too. For wine country, play Silverado (Napa) and Sonoma Golf Course.
