Happy new year folks - treat yourself with a cult classic cobra fairway wood from a few years back

Hurricane golf ebay has cobra Bio cell fairways, standard and + models on sale for $40 for head only.

https://m.ebay.com/i...-4/272993116320

If you do some searching these were very popular a few years back.

I just picked up the 3-4 and 5-7 in the black Bio cell + model for $100 including shipping and taxes to Canada.

They also have hybrids, as well as a bunch of other colours going. Hope this is helpful to someone out there!

Looking forward to trying them out...I was searching for Fly-Z+ to test out the smaller head no avail, so will have to try these out. Also interested to see how easy (or not) it is to elevate the BC+ set at 12*!

How did you get on with the DHY? I've still got my 21* here in plastic, haven't got around to shafting it up yet.

I set my 3-4 to either 13.5 or 14.5 and don't find it difficult to elevate. If I'm planning to use it a lot off the tee, I play it at 13.5. If I'm hitting driver well and plan to use it mostly off the deck, I play it at 14.5. I've tested it at 12* and can still hit it off the deck, but I like the ball flight better at the higher lofts.

The dhy is a nice club, but it didn't end up in the bag (yet). I haven't been playing as regularly, and I feel like my swing has to be really good to get good results from that club.

What's the lie angle like on the BC+ woods? Any flatter than regular Bio Cell? And do they include the sleeve and wrench?

I'm not expecting to get a headcover, sleeve, or wrench as it looks like they just recevied a bulk lot of these from leftover stock. You could always ask.

That said, you can get adapters on Ebay for $5, and any old torque wrench will work fine in these clubs.

I can't see anything about lie angles online - I can only assume that it would be on the flatter side due to being aimed at better players.

No cover, even the shafted versions they offer don’t come with covers. Iirc by this point they stopped providing wrenched with non driver heads. I see nothing about those and wouldn’t expect one. Was looking for lie angle info yesterday too, but found nothing.

I saw a couple references in the release threads here about the + model having a flatter lie angle than the standard model, which makes sense. I think the fact that the MyFly has the option to move to an upright lie angle means the lie angle won't be part of the "specs" for the club when you search.

In the link on diamond tour it says headcover and wrench not included. It could be that a adapter sleeve is included.

FYI Bio Cell line uses a smaller adapter (t20) than most other oem torque wrenches (t25).

I got one from ebay and another for a friend of mine when my local golfsmith went out of business. I think the newer Cobra models moved to the t25, so it'll probably be a little tough to find the t20 wrench other than ebay.

I love my bio cell+ fairway.  It is orange and has some big sky marks from when I hit a rock under tee box......horrible swing.  For $40 I will get a backup head.  I Have hit this club 280 off the deck.  Total bomber.

I was considering getting another for the same reason. Sky marks on my gray head and wanting an orange one to match my hybrid.

I have an orange hybrid but I took out of bag due to my 900 forged 4 iron being so long.  I bought a black head to match my F7 driver.  The Matrix red tie X shaft in the biocell+ is my favorite shaft in my bag.  I can't imagine hitting another fairway better so might as well buy a another head since it is 40 bucks and free shipping.  Great deal.

If anybody gets a fairway wood and could chime in whether the adaptor is included like the driver mentioned above it would be appreciated.

Just got mine in today. Looks great. Only mystery I found was that the two Bio Cell fairways, as well as my F7 3 wood were all within 3 grams headweight of each other. On the one hand it means I won't have to worry about swingweight, but it also seems strange when the stock lengths are 43.25" , 43" and 42.5" on the F7, BC 3-4, and BC 5-7

I can't see a hot melt port anywhere, is there any other way to add weight to these heads if I did want to play them shorter?

EDIT:  upon doing some research, there is an opening into the head through the hosel...happy days

I used that port to add about 12g of yarn to my biocell driver when I was using it. That thing was almost silent when I hit it, lol.
