He said he was seeing if they'd give him a higher value since it's NEW and not used......

Reading comprehension.

This.

I know I can get that value as used. I was trying to see if they would give me more money in NEW condition versus MINT condition.

Since they won't, I might as well try it out :golfer:

Apologies. I misunderstood. If you have a good relationship with your local Golf shop, they may give you a deal

No worries. Tried that route. Said they'd love to help me but they can't move the cure putters they have already (have had them for 2 years and they've sold 1)

If you bought a black one, right now you can sell it on eBay for $109 excluding shipping.

I received mine yesterday (one platinum, one black) , not sure on how I like it. The look of it just does not suit my eye, guess I just prefer more of a mallet shape not a mega blade. I'll wait to see which one, if any, my dad would prefer then see if any of my local buddies would want the other before moving on to trading it in. Oh well, the search for the holy grail continues.
As far as my purchase experience, I'm not going to complain.  I placed my order on 12/31, and was shipped on 1/3. This was only the 2nd business day after a holiday weekend so I don't fault RBG on the handling time. The east coast storms certainly delayed the package, but that is out of RBG or UPS control. It is unfortunate all orders were not fulfilled, but you can't expect a company to lose a bunch of money just to satisfy bulk orders made solely for the purpose of capitalizing on what was clearly a pricing error. While I do dislike many of the pricing tactics RBG uses (Lamkin UTx grip with RBG Price of $24/grip on 75% clearance for $6), I still think they are a great company to deal with.

i'll count my delay from the 2nd as I assume no one was around the office/warehouse on the 1st. mine should arrive today and was also upgraded.

I've only had positive experiences with RBG prior to this order. this one was a little frustrating due to the inconsistency of order fulfillment, shipping and delays, but considering the circumstances, I wasn't upset, just disappointed, thinking I wasn't going to get the putter (especially at that price) and the long delay. had they cancelled my order I wouldn't have been upset as I can understand an error. as it's on its way to me now, they certainly have outdone themselves, imo, by upgrading me to next day air - on something they might be losing money on to get the putter to me quickly.

can't wait to try it out!

I also do not blame RBG at all. The 10th was the original expected date with economy shipping when order was placed. With the mess winter storm left behind, I wasn't even expect this to be on time, even without the added mess from price error and mass orders.

Surely some are upset about their coupon practice, but that is really nothing new in retail business. Some may do it more than others and some disguise it better than others.

Received my order of one black and one platinum CX2 yesterday.  I didn't think the shipping time was out of line considering I went with the cheapest option.  The putter was shipped UPS Surepost.  Not sure I would go with this option again as the package is passed from UPS to USPS for delivery.  This process added a day or two.

Haven't had a chance to roll it outside yet.  Overall, I like the looks of the putter.  Is it big?  Yes?  Too big?  Not to me it isn't. Looks a lot better than some other giant high moi putters in my opinion.

The headcover on the other hand is rather loose fitting and makes the putter look even bigger in the bag.  Looks like a damned hockey stick with the head cover on.  Beyond that, the headcovers just feel real cheap.  The head cover that came with my $99 Wilson Infinite is nicer.  If I had paid retail or close to it, I would be disappointed in the fitment and the quality but for $40 it is hard to knit pick.

received mine this morning. looks great, feels great in hand but haven't rolled any putts yet. looks smaller than i was thinking...maybe because it's black, or maybe because I don't have a putter with me to compare it to. either way, very eager to roll some putts later tonight with it.

I like the shape of the grip, but I don't like the feel - got a tour snsr I got during golfsmith sale for less than $5 I'm going to throw on I think.

ps: anyone know if there's a way I can black out the shaft? I think that would be sick!

If you search through the old threads here on wrx there's one about using electrical heat shrink tubing to do the job. May be right up your alley.

Thanks! I've seen the thread with the murdered out putters but didn't see a diy. Unfortunately I don't have the means to remove or install the grip myself so that method isn't going to work.

That being said, the cx2 is not too big imo. I really like the feel of it. I'm not sure if I like the feel of a ball coming off my gamer, the origin or this cx2 more. They are all great. I set 6 balls down at six ft and made all 6. It almost had too much speed, but none of them were going to be short. I tried toe hits and heel hits and they all rolled well. Perhaps 6ft isn't long enough - and this was indoors in my mat...on carpet. It's definitely a promising putter that I could game immediately.

It was really quite difficult to feel a difference in the weight between my origin putter even though the cx2 should be 40ish grams heavier with all weights in. I'm looking forward to trying this putter out in grass. That will have to wait though.

The sound was fine. I'm not hearing much difference in the impact sound. Perhaps it's a touch louder and more clicky than the mm and origin.

In any case this would be a good buy at $150. A great buy at $100. But for $50....it's fantastic. I can't wait to try it out on real grass!!

Your "too much speed" comment is something I saw also. The ball rolls a little differently than what I'm used to. I think it may start toppling over earlier and not scooting, which may allow it to have more forward momentum throughout the roll.
(just my layperson's analysis)

I also noticed a few putts where I expected more break than what I got. I had to take a straighter line than what I thought I needed. It's like it was able to hold the line longer than I'm used to.

Mine showed yesterday as well, also via next day shipping (i only paid the $9.99 shipping option).  this was in response to my inquiry a few days back about when I could expect my order to be shipped, as I hadn't received any confirmation yet.  they gave me the same line most of you got, that the deal was mispriced, and that they had to wait to acquire more inventory to fulfill those orders.  it shipped the next day, and now i have it.

as far as looks are concerned, i think it's gargantuan and a bit unwieldy.  hard to think it'll find a spot in my bag, but i'll wait until I can actually roll balls on the course before I make that determination.  thanks OP for the heads up!

So got to check out the black CX2 last night. The head is indeed large but it's not nearly as humongous as I imagined it to be.. like the Odyssey Tri-ball. Overall feel is heavy. I mean I have very heavy putters and quite a few of them are 390g, but all have CB grips or counter weight, and none feels nearly as heavy as this one.

Impact is something I am not too sure about so far. It is by far the most clicky putter I have ever touched.  The ball rockets off the face and rolls with a lot of speed and I was having a very hard time slowing it down and still feel a solid stroke.

So the jury is definitely still out. question about the weight screws. If you remove them, do you just leave the holes open?

Yes, I think the holes just get left open unfortunately. It would be nice to have some plastic plugs or something.

I was doing more research about the speed/roll differences that I noticed and found the following on their website:

• Better Roll:  Eliminate backspin and get the ball rolling sooner to stay on the intended line - Achieved by a higher center of gravity, lower loft, and deeper face that impacts the ball at the equator

I think I'm used to the skipping/hopping that slows the ball down during my putts, so when that doesn't happen it seems "too fast".

I have already removed all the weights. I like a lighter putter. With all the weights out, the static weight of the CURE is still 40g heavier than my redwood.

I like that sledgehammer feeling. Mine feels great with all the weights. It's heavier than my current Odyssey, but slightly lighter than my modified Scotty Red X2.

I don't totally buy the claim as it is very much the same thing every putter maker has said about every one of their new models coming out. Except one thing, CX2's loft is 2.5* whereas most other ones are 3-4*. That's probably the main factor why we feel the ball is rolling hot.

The one I kept arrived on Wednesday. It's quality in every sense of the word. I don't like standard size grips any more for these meaty pre-arthritic hands, so I installed a SS 3.0 type grip on it. The standard grip was great quality but just not for me. I've only hit it on a practice green but I really like it so far. Size is big, but it's not really obscene standing over the top of it. I'm finding it very easy to line up and control the line and speed on shorter putts, it does roll a bit further but I think that's due to less initial scooting. It gets rolling after the first micro skip instead of two micro skips. Mishits seem to be non existent but it's a lot easier to putt in practice than in rounds.

The verdict is out but I'm thinking that I'm going to give it at least a couple months on the course to make a decision. It's the nicest putter I have. My other good putters are rescue putters that were name brand Tour level putters that were abused. No structural defects but the paint on them used to look like they were towed on a chain behind a car for a few days. Some TLC and paint, and it looks like I got really good deals on them.

Well...... finally got mine. Looks good, I don't get all the fuss about the size. It isn't that bad. although I feel the headcover is a little smaller than it should be,  anyone else notice in the bag it doesn't seems to be completely secure? Also did anyone else end up with a black headcover? I was hoping for the red one,  what's up with that?  All in all I'm happy with it and can't wait to get more course time
