I picked up an old Ray Cook M1-X over the summer and love it. Sits just right for my eye.

Top mallets that I have had in the bag are a Versa Works 7H and a Scotty Cameron X7M.  I drained way more than my share of putts with these putters.

Directed Force putter.  Every putt goes straight unless you get in the way.  Nice roll.

I had a Red X that I was lights out with for about a year, I loved that putter! Unfortunately I sold it in search of the latest and greatest...story of my life.

I've owned, used and tested a LOT of mallets these past 3 years.  I don't know that I can say the overall best but I can saw a couple important details as to my preferred ones...

Golo 7: amazing putter, feel of a blade but mallet form with excellent alignment and feedback.
6m: not a good overall feel/feedback as the golo 7 but the alignment and high MOI make it a very stable, easy to use putter. excellent for fixing short putt yips.
spider: if you don't mind the lack of alignment (or are getting the 2018 version), it's a great putter for those looking for a mallet with a little more toe hang.

I don't think there's a best. I think there's many good putters that have some design features that stand out, but I haven't found my holy grail yet.

For example, I love the looks and the stability of the Spider Tour.. Hands down my favorite shape and looking putter. But for ME, feel was terrible, I could not hit long putts with this thing. I think the best alignment of any putter is either Marxman or EVNROLL ER6... I love when sight lines extend the whole length of the putter. It really lets me visualize the line of my putt. As far as feel goes... That's tough. Betti Queen Bee feels awesome, and so do most of the new Scotty's. EVNROLL also feels very nice, but maybe depending on grip can feel a touch soft.
