I've been given an eyebrow or two, but my regular playing partners now have adopted a couple of these...

Rain gear isn't that abnormal but I travel everywhere with them... I have a silicon cloth in my bag for the raw wedges I (used to) play, so after a thorough clean, a good wipe down will keep the rust away... I have some gamer grip to help with my sweaty palms... I also have some guerrilla grip towels in there for playing in the wet (this is the tropics after all)... And finally I've got a travel zip case full of meds, pain killers, muscle relaxers (bad back), indigestion and allergy pills...

In reference to the firearms in the bag thing...

My son goes to college in Baltimore, which is quite inaptly named "Charm City". He was playing Clifton Park, one of the Baltimore munis last fall on a Saturday with a friend  from school, when gunfire broke out in the park across the street.  A bullet hit the maintenance shed behind them, and they heard the hiss as it went by. After they finished ducking behind the cart for cover they high-tailed it back to the clubhouse. End of round, and end of playing anywhere in the city for him...

Because Im the only one old enough, with a sordid enough past that can actually use them... in the dark,,, with one hand,,and not spill anything.. and light it in the wind... with a paper match... while riding a bicycle..
