The one that jumps into my memory is the 10th at Nairn GC from the Blue Tees, from there it plays about 550. Usually plays down wind and in the summer I have played two irons onto the green without too much hassle but in calm, wet conditions a pure driver followed by a solid 3 iron. Rolled it in for an eagle as well!

575 or so.The tee shot is elevated, when i hit it in two i had about 260 in and hit a great 3 wood that hit a downslope for an extra kick.

Typically anything under 550 that i play regularly i will hit at some point. We have 3 par 5's that play 525-535 and i hit all of them this year

Something around 535.  With wooden woods, driver, three wood.  Killed both, but a hot dry summer, rock hard, sparsely grassed fairway.  I was about 25 and it seemed very easy.  After all this time, I remember how good those shots felt.

That's brilliant! Nairn is about 30 minutes from me. Are you playing any other courses in that area? Happy to give any recommendations or if you need any advice just let me know.

For me, anything in the 500's is reachable, the question is holding the green with a long iron or wood. The most IMPRESSIVE Par-5 I ever saw was playing with Michael Nicklaus in a practice round for the Florida Open at Grenelefe years ago, with the old ball. 580 yard Par-5, he hit Driver/4-iron pin high 8', (no bounce, it was stiffed), made 3......I was considered pretty long back then, that was a tough hole to reach in 2, on the fly. The ball just didn't carry as much in the Early 90's......
I wish I had that ability. Anything 510 yard or less I consider reachable. 525 is the normal limit barring any crazy bounce. Very impressive EKELLY

About 20 years ago I hit driver and strong 4 wood across water as a shortcut to be on in 2 on 469 yard par 5 from the middle tees. My current home course has a downhill par 5 that is only 445 yards from the middle tees.  Your drive has to be about 245 yards in perfect position to have a shot over the trees that block the green.  My normal 220 carry and roll can roll the additional 25 yards.  I have been on in 2 a few times but never made the putt.  I was never a big hitter and to me a par 5 takes 3 shots to the green.

Some years back at 64 years old I faced 560 yards Par 5 on AZ's Tubac Golf Resort's Rancho course.  The hole was playing downwind howling gusts at 4+ clubs worth.  My drive was beyond huge and then hit a high 5i over a pond to the front edge, literally.  Now, my days reaching a Par 5 in 2 are long gone.  I am playing for birdie or hole out for eagle on the 3rd shot, which happens.

Par 5's are so last year.....I hit a par 6 at Farmstead golf links in Clabash, NC in two 8 years back in the middle of the summer.  712 yards.  The drive bounced like it hit a sprinkler head and then ran forever and the wind was blowing 20 mph that day.  The second shot you are supposed to play out to the right to avoid the giant lake on the left and somewhat fronting the green.  I was 280ish out after my tee ball and hit a giant rope hooking 3 wood that ran about 50 yards according to the group that was on the green, it finished just on the front edge and the pin was all the way in the back.  Three putted for an eagle, for a crowd pleasing 79, those were probably the only two good golf shots I hit that day.

I have never been within 130 yards of that green in the probably other 5 or 6 times I have played it from those tees.

690 Par 5.  Drive was 400 with the aid of downwind and car path.  Nailed my 3 wood (felt like butter) with the help of the wind again.  Rolled within 10 foot and sunk the putt for eagle.  Unfortunately, the next hole (Par 4, 430) was into the teeth of the wind and I had to hit Driver/3 wood to reach the green.

605 yards #9 at Eagle Pointe Golf Club in Mont Belvieu, TX. Itís  a bear of a tee shot with a chute thatís about 10-15 yards wide for the first 50-60 yards, dead straight hole, no elevation change (maybe a couple of feet at most), sea level.

537y for me, Hole #7 at at the Links of Penn Hills and the greens were running super fast that day(I shot a 90 with 45 putts). It was probably the best fairway wood shot Iíve ever hit. I had 245y(239y to Carry the water) left to go after my tee shot and I was feeling brave that day, I was hitting the ball really well so I went for it. Hit a hit draw and got a good piece of it but I couldnít see it land, wound on on the green with  about 35í left for Eagle, then I proceeded to 3 putt for a par :D

I remember my mate hitting the last at Silverknowes Golf Club, Edinburgh with 2 drivers. This must have been a junior open around 1983/84. The hole is 601yds on a parkland course and pretty flat. He had an old persimmon driver, maybe a Spalding or Top-Flite model.

525yds slight uphill, no wind.

Stupid long drive since I knew it was a 3 shot hole so I swung easy.  Flew the area I usually hit my 2nd shot from and ended up 290yd drive with little roll out (GPS measured).  Twilight zone weird.

Nutted 3W to get pin high just right of green (does it count if you miss the green?).

If I remember correctly I chipped on and 3 putted.  Wouldn't have it any other way.

602, flat, slightly down wind, driver-5 iron, pre-prov1.  Hit a hell of a drive with no cart path or sprinkler head assistance. I guess I should say I average 384 off the tee by wrx rules.

622- Uphill then downhill par 5 that I hit my driver over the uphill onto the downhill, also downwind. I am not a HUGE driver of the ball, typically in the 260-275 range, but hit this one 375. Hard fairway and lots of downhill roll, plus some nice down wind. Second shot was a 3 wood that also hit and rolled, but was hit perfectly. Hole is #2 at North Hampton Golf in Yulee FL.  http://gcnorthhampton.com/

Mine was 485 yards at around 5000 feet.  Driver and then 3W to about 6'.  Buried the putt for eagle.  Not bad for an old fat lady.  Just drove a 270 yard par 4 the other day (slightly uphill, but a little down wind on a firm fairway at roughly sea level).  Rolled onto the front of the green so I hit it about 255.  Told the girls before I bashed it that I was going to channel my inner Dustin Johnson.  LOL.  Not sure who was more surprised; me or the girls!

855....according to the misprint to the scorecard lol. I think that's a place called sand ridge in Vero Beach.

In actuality longest has to be at Kinderlou Forest in Valdosta GA. I don't think any of those four are under 580 by the card. 2 is straight downhill the whole way, 4 if you go up the right and turn it over it'll chase but still a long approach up hill over a giant hole. 11 is a brute straight out and is 14 a double dogleg with Pines guarding the right side. Beautiful layout though and well conditioned!

Never been on in 2 at hole 2 but I have on hole 12 playing one up  I know 4 is stupid long but it is shorter taking it over the ravine. Problem is when gambling with the ravine it brings too big of a number in play.  That hole is a true three shot par 5.  I did manage to get on in two on hole 11 from the tips.  However, that course being 7700 from the tips Iíll never play them again.

Side note, if you havenít played this course itís really is a great find.  The course is amazing, though the first few times I played it the greens killed me.  They were smooth and fast but Iíve never played on greens where the grain affects the putt so much.

In normal conditions:
Teeth of the Dog #9: 602yds, tees up 10yds (so playing "590). Driver, 6i.

Cut the corner by somehow (inadvertantly) flying the trap on the double-dogleg leaving about 190 in. As the crow flies probably covered a total of about 530.

In crazy conditions:
Trump Doonbeg #4: 659yds (!), straight hole downwind 30mph+

Driver, 5w to 20ft. Insane.

Flat terrain and all carry, with minimum roll out on the drive ?   I had no issue with holes under 540 yards - when I was younger.  Nowadays maybe 500 ish.

It was fun hitting an iron into the par 5 greens after the drive.
