Who at Callaway thought that Aqua was a good color scheme? Someone's mom?

I certainly wouldn't game those irons based on "looks"

The top iron is a ladies head, the 2nd iron is the Pro version, and the 3rd and 4th head are the standard Rogue.

I like the look of the Rogue Pro as well and if it gets me the same distance as my CF16s (or better) with slightly less offset, I will take it.  I can't imagine clubs longer than the CF16s, but the think I particularly like about the CF16s that I didn't like about the TM P790s is long iron performance.  We have 2 long par 3s (200+) on each of our courses and I play long irons off the tee on some tighter holes and the long iron performance of the Callaway's are simply unmatched.  If the Rogue Pros improve on that with a slighly "heavier" feel at impact, I am a buyer.

Disappointment for me. APEX was a great iron. I loved that they kept it alive for so long and I just don't like the practice of rebadging something and charging more or the same. I'm hoping there is some tech story as to why these are better than the APEX.

I generally don't comment on clubs until I've had a chance to handle and hit them. However, these instagram photos do not inspire a lot of excitement in my eyes. We all know Callaway will spell out the technology real soon. I can honestly say, I'm not feeling them. I realize it's unfair to  compare this offering to products that are already in the marketplace. But given the overwhelming success of the 790's clean lines, the tech in the Rogue better be a grand slam.
Spoiler Alert...I tested them both and the P790 is the winner on ball speed and lower spin.

Interesting, I am not in the market for either but I would never consider lower spin to be a win for an iron.

They don’t need to be better than the Apex. Apex is still in the lineup and is a more premium product. The purpose of these is to offer similar performance at a much lower price and the trade off is that soft forged feel. Due to price points it is a different market.

These don’t directly align with apex either. The Rogue Pro fits between CF16 and Apex Pro in terms of forgiveness, offset, etc...

Also for the people comparing these to P790, I would think these compete more with the M3 and M4, not the P790.

I'm assuming that would be the XForged but from my side to side the P790 wins the ease of use battle between those 2.

I've played Steelhead XR Pro on and off since it was released. Since these are replacing them I'm stoked to see the Rogue Pro performance. If it's as clean as Apex with Steelhead XR Pro performance and the finish holds up then count me in.

I would think Apex CF16 would compete with the P790 as they are both forged low spin distance and forgiveness oriented irons. Cup face vs speed foam.

X Forged seem like a good comparison to P770, Apex Pro to P750, and Apex MB to P730.

They don’t align exactly, to me Apex Pro is friendlier than P750, but it should be close.

Nevada Bobs in Madison Wisconsin had demo 7-irons, both regular and Rogue Pro, and I had a nice try with it.

The demo had a flimsy light-weight shaft (something like 90g weight), which kicks although without substantive feel. I think that its claim is going to be that it incorporated jail bars into the irons. The pro model

It is probably upgrade of XR irons, regular and pro models.

In short, they clearly give higher ball speed than Apex lines. Maybe slightly higher ball speed than Steelhead XR, both regular and pro heads. The feel is however, much better than Steelhead XRs.  In my view, Steelhead XRs should have never come out. Crappy feel although very high ball speed.

I started to play Apex Pro 16 with Project X 5.5 late in 2017 season and enjoyed playing them; 7 iron about 165 yard total, both in the field and with GC2 (?) launch monitor at Nevada Bobs. Before that, I had XR Pro with PX 95 flighted 6.0.

The Rogue Pro was doing about 175-180 yards with the 90 gram light weight shaft. I had the guys at Nevada Bobs put in Project X 6.0 (120g).  The combo feels much better than the stock shaft. I get about 110 mph ball speed and up to 185-190 yards. Spin is a little low around 4500-5000 rpm.

It feels softer and more solid than Steelhead XRs for sure. Not as soft clicky as Taylormade P790. I think that it is a little more forgiving than P790.  I am tempted to do Nippon Modus3 120 S soft stepped, which is what I have in Bridgestone DP irons, which I really like but put aside in favor of Apex Pro 16.  Need to find shafts that will give me a little more spin so that I can stop balls on greens.

I hit about 10 or 15 balls with a Rogue Pro 7-iron today. Put a UST Recoil 780 F4 into a demo head.  I hit them about a club further than my current irons TM P770.  Some of that is driven by stronger lofts 31* vs 33*. Someis driven by lower spin rates (1000rpm less).

These are the longest Callaway irons I've ever hit.

Not feeling the color scheme,  I don’t know what the deal with manufacturers trying to be bold but I am getting more and more drawn to older traditional looking clubs because of it

There is very little color, if any, on any of the mens irons.

Interesting placement from Callaway. Wonder if it has the ball speeds of the Eric Pro. If it does why would anyone pay more for the Epic Pro?

Are these really replacing Steelhead line? Just seem to be a lot of comps to Epic and I know it's not a the Apex replacement. As a Steelhead XR Pro player my only with is a more durable finish.
