Great info!  I haven’t followed this closely....really torn between 3 and 4.  Can I ask what made the M3 win out?  I’m coming from a tour issue 2016 M2.  Best driver I’ve ever owned.

Seems like most Tour guys are going 3?  But, Work numbers 1 and 2 in 4.  Tough call!

Honestly I think it was just a comfort thing.  I had hit the M4 previously and swore that it was the driver I was going to go with, but after hitting the M3 with the Tensei Pro White it was just so consistent and it allowed to go after it a little more, hence the ball speed difference.  In all reality, I think the M3 just looks better to me and I found the right shaft...if I had tested a little bit more, I bet I could have found something that worked with the M4 as well.  The guys I talk to at TM are saying that it is 50/50 for tour guys playing the M3 and M4.  Another thing that I noticed was a feel / sound difference between the M3 and M4; the M3 is more akin to a wooden baseball bat for me, which I love, and the M4 is more of a composite type bat.  Both sweet feeling but just different.

I know this is a thread about the TM drivers, but don't sleep on the Cobra, I think it is a real good driver and is very classic shape.  Yes my numbers were off with it, but I could easily see myself testing for the Cobra and getting a shaft that loads well with it.

TM M3 9.5* - Tensei Pro White 70tx
TM 2017 Tour M2 15* - Tensei Pro White 70tx
TM UDI 18* - HZRDUS Black 105 6.5
TM P770 3-5 - Modus 120tx
TM P750 6-PW - Modus 120tx
Vokey SM6 52F S400
Fourteen RM22 56/60 S400
Putter: Tyson Lamb Allendale

Super helpful - thank you!  I just formally ordered the M3 8.5 through JD's Clubs.  So, hope she's the one.  I am excited to hear what you said about sound.  I did hit the M4 at the PGA Show Demo Day and found it to be a little loud.  Not so much that I wouldn't play it, but, I didn't love it.  Your ball speeds were WAY better than the M3, for sure!  You made the right call, man.  Hope I did, as well :)

I might grab the stock M4 15* fairway in stiff flex and give it a shot.

I guess only stock shaft on it is atmos red? Anyone hit it and have feedback?

Gonna go away from the tour M2. Nice head shape overall, but very punishable if not hit in the middle and with the way I’m hitting it now. A more forgiving option won’t be too bad.

You might be interesting in giving the M4 Tour a whirl.  Some of the guys on the TM trip hit it and seemed to like it.  I think I remember hearing that it was pretty forgiving too.  (Sorry, I can't find the exact quote, but I thought it was in relation to the m2 fwy last year.)

i went from the M2 tour 3hl to the M3 3HL - i haven't noticed a difference in forgiveness between the two, just head size. m3 is a touch smaller to me.

Thanks for the info, I might hit the tour m4 and regular m4 later and see what’s best.

I definitely like the m4 tour shape. So compact and nice.

Got this on a warranty replacement

Liking forward to hitting it.

Went to my local shop today to test out the M3, M4 and M4 tour. I hit about 30-35 shots with each club. All stock stuff on it. I was pretty tired at the end.

After the testing finished. I kept about 20 best shots for each club.

The best distance I had was with the M3, the M4 then the tour M4.

I was surprised how forgiving the M3 was even with the smaller head, but once you hit it in the middle the clubs goes. M4 tour was less forgiving to me, M4 was straight as well but did not have much roll.

With the M3. I averaged about 8 yards longer than the other two.

Long story short, I traded in my tour M2 and I walked out with the M3.

I did hit the rogue as well as the G400. All stock stiff.

I didn’t hit it the same day as I did with the TM Woods, just a couple days before. I remember I was getting about the same distance as my current 3 wood then. So I didn’t want to grab them, if I was getting the same distance with the new M3 or M4 lines I wouldn’t have switched as well but it was actually distance plus accuracy was there.

I forgot I also hit the new Cobra line, those were great as well but with all the stock settings on it, I was getting straight shots but losing distance a lot on miss hits.

I think I’m good on my 5 wood, I like the shaft and I hit it well. So I just changed my 3 wood last night.

Nice choice!  Did you hit the Rogue SZ by chance as well?

You'll be back for that 5w.  ;)

I went with the m3 as well.  My shop didnt have the m4 tour to try.  I only gave the m4 tour a few swings at The Kingdom, and that was at the VERY end of the range session.  My body was dead tired by that point.  Between the M3 and M4, the M3 won for me.  Good distance, good looks, and it feels great.

Maybe M4 tour 5 wood. Sure.

Good thing it’s finally an option for retail to those who want it.

Biggest issues with modern woods has been the durability and now even adapters are breaking lol

With a golf season of 3-6 months depending on weather. There is no time for going back and forth with even stellar customer service

Next focus for woods should be durability. Distance and forgiveness has been near maxed, lets make these clubs be built to last.

1000s of M line woods being returned and replaced cannot be great for TM either.

I gotta finally chime in after playing a legit round with my M3 440 Pro White Combo.

It really is a great feeling, forgiving, & long combo for me.  Twist face wise it may have helped 1 or 2 of my "misses" but I really don't think the Twist face is as prominent on the 440 heads.  I was able to look down at the ball and swing for the fences.....I honestly didn't even notice the gray crown which is great to me.....The white never bothered me but I noticed it.  Thinking back I didn't even realize I was playing gray driver.   I hit 75% of the fairways I hit driver on (12 swings) really only Miss hit 1 but it was bombed into the drink.....

I'm playing a 9 set to NU with both weights center of main track.  CK Pro White 60S TM Tipped 1" @45" total length & surprisingly I would say this combo is Mid Launch low spin.  It is not as low launch as you would think, in fact not even remotely low launching which I like.

Also finally tried the 2017 M1 15 Diamana B combo I've sat on since last summer and the 2017 M1 is a GREAT fairway wood.   Way better than previous model and R15.....it gets up in the air quick.
