So much like many people I've beat my Clic 3.0 into the ground over the last few seasons. Noticed that the brake definitely was not working as well as it used to so I initially tried just replacing the brake cable. Its definitely not super easy threading that cable through the downtube but for $8, Clic makes it real easy to buy these parts. Well, after I was done (naturally) I went to hook the brake back up and sure enough, the wheel cog was completely worn down to the nubs. Absolutely nothing for the brake to grab onto.
So, back to Clic, bought the wheel cog for $5 and boom, just like new.
Now, replacing the brake cable definitely improved things a bit. The old cable didnt move as well in the sheath as the new one so I dont regret the upgrade at all.
But if you're having the same issue and cant figure out why tightening the cable isnt working - take a look at the brake cog on the front wheel. If it looks like my "before" picture, spend the $5 on a new cog first lol.
