Santa brought me some new wedges this Christmas! My first JDM club, and also my first raw wedge. I've only chipped around the house with them, but they look amazing at address; can't wait to hit the dome(winter here) and eventually the course with them in 2018.

Here's what I picked up(with Tour Onyx Black X100's and green MCC+4's):

50.07
54.08
58.12

I hope you enjoy them!! I like to see that they're already rusting, just keep the grooves clean and let them rust!

Will they rust/wear poorly if I don't clean the grooves? I'm pretty good at cleaning my grooves out every shot, but tend to forget once in a while. But I can't wait till they rust and get that nice patina on them.

I picked up the 54.08 & 58.12 from Will Peoples too and mine aren't rusting yet .  Maybe because I wiped then down with Break- Free CLP Wipes .

I want to pick up a 50 degree as well but I have an excess of wedges at the moment so i'm trying to move some inventory   :)

They wont rust poorly if you don't clean the grooves but they can wear and perform poorly if you don't keep the grooves clear of debris.

Should rust relatively easily. I have 21's and they are kept dry but have a nice layer of light rust. Of course I hit them out of the bunker so that takes the rust off certain spots.

I had the opportunity to play my 54.08 & 58.12 this past week in the Orlando area and I'm pretty please but I will need some time getting used to the low bounce 54 and high bounce 58.  I have always played a 12 degree bounce sand wedge and a low ( 6 or 8 ) degree bounce Lob wedge.   The tight Bermuda punished me around the greens until I started opening up my 58 wedge and playing more of a cut - pitch shot.

You'll get it. A long session around the green and you'll be set.

What did you think of the performance when you hit a good one. For me that's a big selling point aside from the feel.

The spin was very good on full shots from 100 yards and in as well as the little spin shots around the greens when I executed them.  It does look as if the 58 will get more bunker time since the bounce is more than my sand wedge .

I was able to get out a few times with the wedges(just at an indoor golf dome) and they are great. I won't get a true idea of them until I get some real grass interactions, but I'm happy with them so far.

The weather in Mary's Land was warm yesterday 60 degrees so I got out on a local course and got some much needed time with my 54.08 & 58.12 Raw wedges.  The course was soaked but I can honestly say these are going to work great for me.  The contrast in results from 2 weeks ago on tight - hard pan Bermuda grass in Florida to bent grass was like night and day.  I did find that opening the wedge slightly with both the 54 & 58 paid huge dividends.  The Bumper sole and Delta sole are two different animals so I still need more on course time but I think I will like them.  I do plan on holding onto my Scratch forged wedges for course conditions that require a low bounce lob and high bounce sand wedge.

Options are good. I have different sets for different times of the year since our conditions change so drastically.

The 12 degrees of bounce on hard pan or any tight lie is not a good look  :(

No its not. I have a set of regular 21's and also a set in the wide/low bounce. Also have standard TVD and a set of TVD K grinds. I have options. The wide sole Fouteens are a nice low bounce option if you can still find them.

Gaming them right now and they're the absolute bomb.

Little more leading edge than I'm used to but spin the ball more than any wedge (Fourteen Design) so it is expected.

The rusty is great too!

Those are sweet. I have an RM12 58-12 that is fabulous, especially from bunkers and hairy lies. Need to grab whichever RM22 Tour Raw is best off closely mown grass around greens. That is the shot I have been working on and I have found I was making it harder than I needed to by gripping the club too hard. Let it swing and I learned this shot pretty quick. A pro’s eye really helped there.

So for that tight pitch where I want to hit the hop and stop, any advice? I use my 58 from the bunker and as lob so this would be around a 54 ideally.

Fourteen must be pretty solid designs since major OEM’s have copied them on adjusting the CG up the face on some lofts. I know I have tried other 58 degree wedges, like the Vokey K grind, but I sold it — just not as versatile as my RM12. I basically want the closest thing to that in a 54 useful of tight grass. And when I retire my RM12 I can add another. Lots of quality wedges out there but man, I can pound the sole of that 58 into the sand and the ball just sizzles on the green it has so much spin. Unsurpassed from a greenside bunker.

Get an RM-12 58/8 or RM-22 54/8 or 58/8 for tighter lies.

Unsurpassed from a greenside bunker.

When you say your looking for something to use off tight lies are looking for a 58 to replace the RM-12 or are you looking for a 54 that you can use when the lies get tight? There are a few ways we can make a very low effective bounce 54, a popular option is to bend our 56/12 2 degrees strong and then use a T or C grind to reduce the bounce. The 56/12 doesn't have the bumper on the leading edge so it is a little bit better in tighter lies

A pro's eye really helped there.

So for that tight pitch where I want to hit the hop and stop, any advice? I use my 58 from the bunker and as lob so this would be around a 54 ideally.

Fourteen must be pretty solid designs since major OEM's have copied them on adjusting the CG up the face on some lofts.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I like the idea of a C grind low leading edge 56-12 bent 2 degrees strong. My man Jeff Lee (great teacher) at Annandale Golf in Virginia carries Fourteen wedges.

Love the shape of these so much, PURE! But could definitely do away with the rust. I don't see as many players using rusty wedges anymore as I used to. Rusty putters, not that seems to be kicking in.
