Central Arkansas, I play in Hot Spring Village. Yeah, I found the ball marker on eBay and had to have it, because it’s different from all the other Razorback ones I’ve seen. I have no idea how old it is.

If I'm not near anyone's line, I will use a poker chip from a course in Thailand.  Otherwise it's a 10 Baht coin with the King always face up.

Just a standard hat clip ball marker from my home course. If I am playing in a foursome sometimes I will use a dime or the ball mark from my glove to try to impact the lines as little as possible.

Something I saw in a pro shop was a big glass jar of shiny 5p coins.

The sign in front said 'BALL MARKERS FOR SALE- 1 each.'

Very cool.  Tidy profit margin too :). Wonder if he is getting any pushback from the manufacturers?

Also makes me want to take an old golf ball to a machine shop and see what they would charge me to slice it up. Bet a six pack would get the job done.

Being a Disney fan, they sell these little metal souveniers that almost look like coins that are shaped like something disney. I have a handful of them I use. Just pick one out at the beginning of my round.

I use to use fancy ball markers, but I just kept losing them.  Golf pants pockets aren't the most secure.  For the past 10 years, I've just been using dimes.  Small, but shiny so its easy to spot on the green.   I've probably lost about $20 in dimes. I always keep a dollars worth in my bag.

There's one fellow plays in the weekday morning old guys' group at my club who is reputed to cadge quarters off people to use for a ball marker and then try to hand them back a penny at the end of the round. I think it quit working years ago, though.

I played with that group once a while back and he asked me if I had a spare coin. I tried to hand him one of my little plastic disks and he said, "Nah, I need a quarter". But I'd been clued in ahead of time and didn't bite.

Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

Had a little time so whittled this out last night.  First attempt.  I prefer the type of mark that balls can roll over without disruption (just in case).  Might try to make one from stainless steel at some point but it will take quite a bit more time.

I don't know. I think shooting anything over 1800 would be a little disheartening

I use that thing that clips onto your golf glove so you can easily unclip it from your glove then clip it back on after each putt.....
But seriously, I usually use Aussie 5 cent pieces as they are our smallest coins and cause the least obstruction to other players lines.

For years I used a very small vintage Snoopy enameled charm, but it was lost and not replaced.

s-l500.jpg

For the next few years I've used a Mexican Quetzalcoatl god of feathered serpent coin (they made these for about four years).

1984Mexico5PesoTogether.jpg

Now I'm using a 1964 Tokyo Olympics coin with Mt. Fuji and Cherry Blossoms

i use a quarter sized neon marker thats flush with ground, i never understood using anything raised, because if you are in the line of someones putt, you have to move your ball mark
