My youngest brother was obsessed with the Sacajawea Gold Dollar coins when they were introduced in 2000.  He would always ask if he could have some if my family was going to the bank.  I actually use one as my ball marker as an homage to him.

I use these also. There is a non-manned ice machine vendor down the road that spits these out as change. These coins are so seldom circulated that they are usually nice and shiny. They look like 24k gold even though they are not.

oops....I better make sure I'm politically correct. The ice machine is also non-womaned.

If my mark is not near anyone else's and will not cause any problems, I have a military coin that is the size of a man hole cover. If I am close to someone else, I will use a poker chip or some foreign coin with a hole in it. If there is a chance a ball might roll over my mark, I use one from a ball pitch tool or a magnetic cap clip.

I use a poker chip size coin. Used to use a personalized hat clip marker my wife had made for me but it was gold in color and difficult to see on some greens at different times of the year.

Me too. For some reason that coin makes a great marker. I often use a French franc coin, too.

I also have a few markers I bought from a few local courses that are nice.

The other day I was out in the middle of nowhere, fishing Pyramid Lake with my brother. We were on a remote shoreline and something glinted in the sun. It was a half-exposed Canadian nickel and it was in perfect condition. Beautiful coin and a good size for marker. The very next round my son borrowed it for one hole and lost it within 5 minutes. Typical

Various Vegas $1 tokens that they took out of circulation. Collected them a while ago for this very purpose. Some hotels don't even exist anymore!

I use a white logo marker on one side, the other side is Metal. White side up when I mark, metal side when I move it.
Sucks to take a penalty when I forget to move it back.

I used to use American coins, but somehow they would end up in the pocket of my playing partner.  Now I use foreign money (Canadian twoney, Mexican peso, Euro coin) or a poker chip.  He doesn't steal any of those.

I use a state quarter and try to use the right one for any state I'm playing in. I always use the state (tails) symbol side when marking the ball but use the heads side as a "heads up" reminder when marking a ball that has been moved out of the way and needs to be replaced in the proper spot.

That's  strange you should say this.
In the past I've used different  coins from 1966.
The reason being, that was the year I was born.
I may just have to go back to that.
Thanks  for posting that!!

I wish I could talk about the awesome NFL team I cheer for but sadly its the Raiders.

I have an Oakland Raider marker with the shield logo on one side and "Raiders" on the other. "Raiders" is for birdie putts the shield logo for par or worse.

For a long time, I would use a Silver Kennedy half dollar.
Probably 4 years ago I got one of the two piece markers from a course I was playing and have since collected 4 or 5 of them. They're the size of a poker chip when you're not in someone's way and the removable magnet is about the size of a quarter if you are closer to the hole. Really like this style.

I use a Snell poker chip marker unless I'm anywhere near the line of another player, in which case I use a US quarter. Nothing fancy.
