I usually use a new quarter.
Lately, I've been thinking about finding a unique marker.
Some of those Russian  subway tokens look nice.
Do you have a marker with a cool history?
Is it sentimental  or good luck?

I have an assortment of stuff in my bag, and use whatever comes out when I reach in. Iíll try for about 2 seconds to find my Princeville poker chip, but if itís not quick, Iíll take whatever. Iíve got probably 4 poker chips, about $3 in quarters, a few foreign coins I got from my uncle when he passed away, and some big commemorative coin shaped things from my ex-wifeís company and my old job.

I always use a 50p coin from my time in St. Andrews. I brought back a whole bunch of them and I use them exclusively.

I use a 1 Euro coin that was given to me as change in Germany after buying the first round of beers I shared with my father-in-law there.  He & my mother-in-law are German immigrants, and we all took a trip to meet extended family soon after my wife and I were married.  He passed away about 18 months after the trip.  The marker is very sentimental to me and always a good reminder of the time we got to spend together.

I have a huge assortment of markers in my bag and pretty much just reach for whatever comes out first. I'm not a fan of poker chips because they're too big, coins feel slippery to me for some reason, so I just use whatever feels right at the time lol

I use couple of those old style plastic markers. They don't move if you tap them down and they are close to ground.I also use a Odyssey poker chip if not around any ones line.

I use a whole different heap of markers.

I was never one for having more than one but in the last couple of years, I have picked up a good amount from nice courses that I have been lucky enough to get to play so I now have markers from the Old Course, Troon, Trump Aberdeen, Nairn, Royal Aberdeen, Dundonald Links...

A hula hoop.  It's a bit unwieldy to a carry around the course, but always a great conversation piece!!

I've always found it easiest to use a marker from my ball mark repair tool.  It's the easiest item to find in my pocket and I usually have to take it out of my pocket to repair a ball mark anyway (if not mine, then one that a previous player has not repaired).

I've used a dime with a red X marked on it for years now (red X in case anyone else uses a dime).  That way if a ball happens to roll across it there is minimal effect on it's path since it's the smallest and thinnest of coins.

I use a ball marker.

Bought 100 of them for five or six bucks a decade ago. Ought to last me the rest of my life.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

My dad is a wine guy. He wraps quarters in the foil wrapper from the top of wine bottles he's consumed (don't know anything about wine, sorry for the poor description). They make nice little mementos to give to playing partners.
