Geez how is rangefinder the most popular answer? I can't see my ball from the tee box at least half of the time due to slope/lies/whatever.

I think the question revolves around how far you think something is (hazard, green, pin, etc.), vs how far you are hitting the ball.

I said rangefinder because I typically pull that out on every shot. But in reality I use every one of the selections. GPS/Phone app is awesome for blind shots. I use feel a lot more on courses I've played a lot. Seems like there's always a couple shots that never fail to play a club or two off of measured yardage. You can even add Google Earth to the mix because I'll usually scope out a new course before I play it to get a strategy together. If I were to rank them, I'd probably put course markers last. Playing with a rangefinder and phone app the past few years has given me a healthy distrust of most on course markers.
