Just replaced my PING CUSTOM FIT G400 10.5 driver ( WITH Kurokage 60 reg ) to GD AD  IZ 47 gram R1( tipped 3/4") and increase o/a length from 45 to 45.75.

SS is 85-87 mph . - increase in distance is 15- 17 yards. Stock head was 202 grams ; changed the weight down to keep D3 swing weight. Ball used is the Bridgestone B SERIES Rx. This ball kicked out the chrome soft and TP5 X I had been using. Finished cpm is 235 at 45.75 "

Each to their own. The very last thing I would do is add nearly one inch to my driver shaft.
I dropped an inch, have found the centre more often and am hitting better average distance than before.

Congratulations....  That's a big increase in distance and sounds like your confidence level with the drive is up with the switch .

My only question is who CUSTOM FIT you in the Kurokage shaft and did they hit you with an up-charge?

The original kurokage was fit by the PING rep at a demo day.LATER I went to a local fitter who built the IZ; knowing lighter and longer would give me more ball speed.Expensive experiment but the GD shaft is extremely stable and straight.

Great gains

Though I thought Nicky Price went to PXG ... so this blatant Ping and Bridgestone brand promoting is quite confusing

I went with the XTorsion Copper in tour length and it's a perfect fit for me! Such a great stick I'm a big fan of the shape and sound. BB

What was the up charge from Ping for the Kurokage shaft and XTorsion ?   I'm curious what they get

I can't remember the exact amount but it wasn't terrible. Neither are classified as "exotic" from the upcharge standpoint. There's a couple shafts offered as a tour upgrade or something like that which made them reasonable to some degree. BB
