i like the ones with holes at the end of them, and with a tee box to start out with, and a fairway in the middle..............yah........

There is something with me and links…I love them. I love the wind, and it is how golf was actully meant to be played like.

The closest thing I've played to a links course was Whistling Straits, but I still had a blast.

I gotta say I like any golf course because as long as I'm out there golfing life is good.

I like a lot of different type of courses, but I love the fescue, bunch of bunkers, undulating terrain, fast greens, and amazing veiws. I know that's a lot to ask for in a golf course, but I have played plenty that are like this. Although I do not like to be in the fescue, it always adds such character to the layout, aswell as a lot of bunkers. Since I live in Maine, there are a lot of Mountain and Lake courses that can be absalutely beautiful. Kebo Valley which is in Bar Harbor (you may have heard of it), but it's a links style course, but the whole course is played on the island which is also a mountain, so at times during the round, you get to the tee box, or fairway, and you can see for hundreds of miles, on the 3rd/4th hole on a good day you can see all the way to Mount Washington in NH. Also my favorite Maine course of all time - Belgrade Lakes, it played on a pretty elevated site, but the practice green is built on a ledge, and you can see all the way down to the valleys where the lakes are, it's absalutely breathtaking.

I like any beautiful course, but I have to say out of Maine, my favorite course that I have ever seen/played is Newport CC, in Newport R.I., it's absalutely gorgeous, and there was not a spot on that course that was in bad condition.

Man I love Links and Plantation primarily.  Hate traditional.

I prefer links courses with fescue

up here in the pacific northwest, "links" just means deeper bunkers, but still lots of tree's and green. I seem to like desert courses the best, i love the look of green fairways carved out of the rocks and cacti.

any course that makes you use your imagination to create shots.  especially around the greens.

you americans have no idea what a proper links course is until you play one in the UK or Ireland.

I love links and how you have to play low shots, bump and runs etc. It really does play the course into the hands of a creative player which is how it should be.

I've never played a true links, so I can't comment on those.

But, I love the oldies! Tall pines, challenging layout/position of bunkers, makes you think before you hit the ball. Can't cut corners on dog-legs because of the old trees. New courses, while fun to bomb tee shots on, don't make you shape your shots or hit a layup off the tee.
