Doing a road trip end Nov, start Dec which will be my first time in the US for almost 20 years.

That's pretty late in the season there, wondering if that makes it a good time to get some shopping in.

Is there a season to be jolly when it comes to golf gear?

Starting around our Thanksgiving and through the Winter we generally find better pricing on-line.  Closeout models and more discount sales during that time.

Great. So I have timed my trip poorly for playing but well for shopping!

Thanks for the response.

I don't know how much time you want to spend on the logistics or looking online, but if you buy something to pickup while in the States, you can have items redirected to UPS and Fedex offices, in lieu of having a proper fixed address to send them.
Also I don't know what part of the country you will be visiting, but the golf stores part of the Golf Mart family typically do a 20% off sale each Thanksgiving, could be a way to grab a used set at a significant discount from a bricks and mortar shop.

From my time at Golfsmith Headquarters ... Golf sales season ran from Master's Weekend to Father's day. While sales may pick up from Thanksgiving to Christmas, and some deals to be had on older gear (like the last 3 Taylormade releases since January), do or die time for Golf gear remains Spring/Early Summer.
