I have both.  I use laser because I suspect North Korea is messing with our satellites.

I use both especially on courses with blind shots or unfamiliar courses. With the garmin I can look at the screen to se if there are hazards until I get a sight line to use the laser.

I use both, Garmin g20 watch.  GPS is great for tee shots (hit driver or three wood?) and layups (285 to center of green, play 200).  Home course also has some blind greens.  Lastly, GPS is good reality check on laser - (center of the green is 160, laser says 190, must have missed flag.)

It might be overkill, but the combo is pretty flawless.

The Chinese also have missiles that can shoot down satellites. When that day comes I'll still have my laser. :)

Agreed it might be overkill but the combo is flawless.
I have both and use the GPS much more over the laser but like them both a lot.

I've  got both now. I have Garmin approach gps and a Bushnell V4 slope.

General yardages or "blind" , the gps is great. The laser is unbeatable for layup distances and approach shots. We have many raised greens where you cant see the bottom of the pin. If you've never used laser its hard to imagine the confidence of knowing exactly what yardage you have. Its certainly improved my distance control. Tellingly, all the guys I play with who use gps ask me what yardage ive got whenever were on a par 3.
Using the 2 combined gives you the exact pin yds, plus a close estimation of green in front or behind pin.

We are on a winter short course at the moment, so the gps isnt automatically changing to the next hole. Last time i played, we got to 14 and because of a copse of trees I didnt have line of sight for the laser so i checked the gps, which was showing the 2nd hole, the last one I looked at it on!

If i had to keep just one it would be the laser.
