There's a ton of cheap shafts right now on Golf Deals and Steals - A lot of older Matrix models like XCons, Q3, RUL, Speed Rulz, etc.

There's quite a few uncut and there's also quite a few that are TaylorMade tipped and gripped and ready to go (assume some or these are made for?).

Only bummer is their site functionality is not good for sorting and filtering so it takes a lot of time to go through them...

I snagged a few on the cheap to test out with the driver.

Nike Vapor Pro, Diamana S+
Taylor Made '17 M2 16.5*, Reax 65 S
Callaway X Utility Prototype 18*, KBS Tour 120
Mizuno MP-54 3-4 / MP 15 5-PW, C-Taper Lite S
Mizuno MP-T5 52* & 58*
Odyssey White Hot XG-7

How would the Matrix Q3 red tie compare to a Aldila Rogue Black?

Thanks for the link. Picked up a 7q3 and 6q3 shaft. Supposed to be the next version of the HD series. For the price, worth checking them out. I already had gotten backups of the HD6 so didn't need more of those :)

A cheap experiment for those 2 shafts...

I haven't done much messing around with shafts in the past, and pretty much played stock offerings in the right flex for me. So I thought for very little investment I could finally play around with some different shafts. I decided to give the following a try:
  • Matrix Ozik Xcon-6 stiff
  • Matrix Ozik 6Q3 Red Tie Extra Stiff (the cool green/masters edition)
  • Project X Black 6.0 - I had the Original PX Blue 6.5 in a Nike driver and loved it, but don't think I currently have the speed and tempo to warrant a 6.5 any more. Would've rather picked up a 6.0 Blue (or the equivalent in the non-made for line) but they're hard to come by

I'll have to spend more for a couple of Nike FlexLoft adapters than I probably did on shafts :)
Nike Vapor Pro, Diamana S+

They seem to have a surplus of Tour Issue 2016 M1/M2 Driver and Wood heads starting around page 27 in components as well.

I don't know if there's any affiliation, but Golf Deals and Steals does seem to be a dumping ground for older Taylor Made products.

The project x black is a low launching shaft compared the the blue. IMO the relationship between those two is like the Blueboard vs the Whiteboard. Very different feel.

Crap - I probably won't like the PX Black then, as I really liked the flight of the PX Blue and thought it was low enough for me. Oh well, for the little bit I paid it'll still be worth trying it out.

Yes, and here's a good example:  New, Uncut, Tour Preferred Graphite Iron Shafts - 90-grams - .355T - Stiff

Note:  3-8 iron shafts are available - (Constant weight graphite shafts)

TP90Shaft.jpg The price on these will shock you!.. :swoon:

And so will the price on these!  (New 'Heads Only' SLDR Irons 3-8i 'Sets')... :shok:

In my rush and excitement to try new shafts, I didn't even bother looking at tip size of the shafts...

Nike Flexloft adapter is .335, 2/3 of my shafts are .350. Am I hosed there? Any way to make them work?

I am not finding any Nike adapters in any size other than .335.

I'm looking to tinker with an X that's on the lighter side. Are any of these models around 64 grams? It's an experiment for my g30 which is likely to be the 3rd or 4th stringer, so cost is a factor.

I'm just having a tough time finding specs on the shafts from this website, even after a Google search. I assume because they are made for specific manufacturers.

They have some Rifle steel shafts for $5 each.  For .370 get the 3 iron shafts and just tip each shaft in the set thereafter.  Can't beat the price.

Mizuno Hot Metal irons w/Recoil 95's
