Was playing 9 with my boy and his little buddy (who'd never played a course before) yesterday and was goofing around with some different balls. Teed up a Gamer Soft and am not feeling it with that ball. Reached into my bag and was surprised to see that I still had a TM Project(a). Man, I can play that ball, for some reason. Have hit my longest drives with it, can stop it dead on the greens, and it has a nice fell off all the clubs. I'm surprised it's not more popular. While playing it I became curious if any PGA, LPGA, or Euro Tour players play this ball. How 'bout you? You feel the love with this ball? Is there a list somewhere of what balls pros play?

Have a nice day.

I'm not sure about the pros playing it since they have access to the top of the line products and even if they were using it, from what i've experienced in the Hockey industry, they'd just paint over it and have it look like the top of the line product anyhow.

I played a few holes with it last week before i lost it and I really enjoyed it.

I love finding random balls and trying them, beats buying a sleeve or dozen to do so.

It's a good ball. Really enjoy playing the latest version which is less spinny off the driver and softer.

Some may have tested it, but I doubt its regularly used on PGA or Euro tours.  I tested it awhile back, nice distance ball with soft core for slower swing speeds.

It is a great ball for sure, and can be found super cheap used.  Feels awesome, and sticks tight to the greens.

Anyone else like the older version better? It was firmer which I liked. The newer version felt just a hair too soft for me.

Found it to be a bit spinny on the tee, but that's my miss.  Committed to playing one ball all season, and this one helped me break 80 a bunch of times this year.  I like the new ones better than the old.  But next year, going to try the TP5 and SuperDeep, and just see what they do!

Both the TP5 and SuperDeep are great. My son's little friend who we took out to the course for his first outing - was playing a SuperDeep I gave him a while back. haha... I looked at it and said, "That's a great ball, kiddo!"

I played a couple I found on the course this year. Liked it quite alot but I found it clicky, similar to the original Callaway HX Tour. Is it likely that I tried the early version vs the later model? Is the newest model less clicky?

Yeah, that's interesting. I've found the Project a to be very soft. But, I've seen mentioning here of different versions. I've not noticed a change in the ball, myself. I get out and play about 3 times/month so I don't go though a lot of balls.

It's funny - as I work through my stash I am hitting a lot of these balls and some TP5x. I loved the MTB and tore through my first box of those in short order. Each time I tee one of these balls up I think, "Man, that Dean Snell sure knows his $41t!" - haha.

The 2016 version had a lowered compression of 70.  This was brought down from the 2014 version that had a compression rating of 88.  The idea of lowering the compression was to increase feel and spin on short approach shots.

I played them today. Been working my way through some leftover Titleist DT's and reached into the bag and found a buried sleeve. Love this ball. Good feel off of all the clubs. Not crazy long or spinny anywhere, but great all-around.
I play Gamer Tours now for the most part bc of price vs value, but there's nothing wrong w project a.

My son is playing the Project A right now and loves it.  Great distance and he's able to stop it on the greens.  Hit a hybrid from 140 yesterday and it stopped dead on the green... too bad it was a back pin and we expected it to roll out.  I can't play this ball though.  Seems like it balloons on me with driver and I end up losing distance compared to the TP5X.

Care to elaborate a little?

Boxes were dated 2015.  I'm not sure if that's when the 2016 balls were produced or if it's a later run of the 2014 models

Yeah, I've heard this. For me...I have hit my two longest drives of my life over the past month and both were with the Project a. These were unusually long bombs, too. I, frankly, was surprised. Perhaps the ball didn't matter too much on those but it demonstrated for me that I can bomb this ball. I've hit some bombs with the TP5x and MTB, too, and I bet those might have resulted in more distance on those shots(?) Anyway...I'll pay more attention to driver w different balls. Transitioning to just Snell balls as my golf skills grow faster than my wallet...
