Seeing as this season is coming to an end I just looked over my stats for the season. I managed to dropmy hcp from a 15.6 to 8.9. My biggest killer was that I never had a super strength to my game, everything was average. Some days it all came together, driving, ball striking, short game and putting. Others it didn't. I had taken a few lessons prior to the start of this season and they are definetly a huge contributing factor.

However for the first time I got fit for a driver and a putter. Mind you it was late August. Fit into a Epic SZ and a TM spider tour.

Both of these have been huge improvements. The driver can still let me down but the putter has been a godsend.

Since getting the putter ive had 17 rounds on it. During those 17 rounds my stats are as follows (btw im not best chipper)

Only 6x 3 putts. Huge reduction. Of those 6. 4 were in th first 5 rounds with one round having 2.

Strokes gained avg of .15 strokes gained (for reference during those 17 rounds my others are:
-.33 driving
-.30 approach
-.20 short game

I averaged 1.7 putts per hole with 1.8 per GIR.

I had a high round of 34 putts and a PB of 26 putts.

Hands down best purchase for me was putter.

Callaway xr os 31* hybrid.
To understand why this particular Club helped out so much you got understand high handicappers have a difficult time hitting the green from 160 yards out. This club is so easy to hit pure it's silly, and I usually outdo all my playing partners because of it.

Mizuno MP4 blades.  

I don't have the game to bag them, but I love having the 8 - pw in the bag, to combo with my MP 54's.  

They don't really help me, but they don't hurt me in those short irons.  

One exception..., I use the pw for chipping and it performs better than my 54's.

Matrix Ozik TP6HDe. Changed my driving entirely! Not only was I finding more fairways but I was carrying drives as far as my previous drives would go with roll. Sadly, I think I'm spoiled now and can't imagine playing a smoother feeling shaft.

Also went from 3 wood to 5 wood with lowering the loft to basically a 4 wood. Not only is it a better distance off the tees but it's much easier to hit off fairways and it holds greens much better than any 3 wood.

A Caddytrek remote control golf cart for my wife.  Our course is up and down the Niagara Escarpment and we both hate riding.  This has been great for her and her bad knee.

I got fitted for a putter and picked up a Scotty Cameron Newport. It has helped my putting immensely!

Callaway Apex 4 & 5 hybrid.  I always struggled with hybrids so I still had the 4 and 5 iron in the bag.  The Apex's have been a great help.  Bought the 4 first and liked it so much I bought the 5.

Cobra F7 one length irons.

Helped me hit 7 percent more greens and my cap has gone from 5.X to 2.2 this year.

Haven’t sniffed a two handicap in 5-10 years until this year.

Simplified practice and play for me. One swing with all clubs from 205 to 75.

P790's! Club longer, hit everything higher (which is good for me), mid irons way easier to hit than my previous gamers.  Honorable mention to a GBB 7 wood with a DI shaft that I picked up for super cheap on CPO.  Replaced my hybrid and I hit it way more consistent.

Totally boring.  G30 22* hybrid.  But I can legitimately hold a green from my old 3-4 iron distance, rather than hitting that flat flighted long iron, that even when hit well has neither the height nor spin to stop.  I had either been choking down on 5w and hitting a cut or pounding a 5 iron when I knew the 3-4 iron wouldnt stop (front pin, small green, forced carry etc)...and neither worked. The 22* chicken stick has really helped.  I end up using it 2-3 times a round and it's been a joy.

Well not exactly purchases more about a few updates.

1) sent my spider ghost CS to continental golf and they gave it the full DJ treatment and I have never scored better on the greens

2) got a "real" fitting launch monitor, lie board etc...and had to send my Mizuno irons and wedges back to Mizuno to get them tweaked 4* flat total (1 additional degree flat as i ordered them 2* flat and then 1/2" short, which adds another 1* flat) and after my lesson tonight, I wish I would have done this sooner!

3) CLK hybrid is solid and love hitting this stick

Sanded it a little and metal polished it today.

The Grooves look Groovey !!
May re Oil Can it and my two 200's to match towards Xmas.

Spent last year trying various irons then 2 months ago decided to give srixon 745’s a go and wow !!!! .
Everything has improved greens in reg stats are much better and most of all I have irons I’m confident with .

Tied between my Mizuno HM irons with recoil 95 shafts and the Callaway Sub Zero driver with a AD DI-6 shaft cut 1" shorter than standard.  I haven't hit a driver this well in probably 5 years and the irons are so forgiving they make a bad day enjoyable.

Miura baby blades, at least the 7 through PW. I have multiple sets of irons that range SGI to these and from 150 yards in, these are the best I have ever played.

Went from MP 54s to JPX 900 Forged.  Better clubs in every way imo.  Plus I got them off EBay barely used and seller fit them to my exact specs of +3/4 inch + 2 degrees.  Got them for half price.  Took a chance on the the KBS Ctaper X shafts and love them.  Haven't bought another set of irons or looked at another set all summer.  That's rare for me.
