I feel like that's more offset than before. Guess I'm not waiting for this release.

The headshape and overall aesthetics are solid. Cant judge offset based on that pic, but its a key factor

I thought driving irons had to have a hot melt port to be legit?

That looks slimmer than the Apex UT.  Either way, I want one.

I hit the 4 UT and it was bigger than the 4 iron, but just in size, offset wasn't that much at all.  Sole is about half the Srixon UT and the ratio's on the size and top line are on point...did find it rather HOT too...4 ut was more like a 3 iron for my yardages, but a 3 iron I could actually hit!!

Looks good!  I struggle with all of these 'driving' irons but I'm sure I will give this one a go at some point.  Wonder if we will see a 16* version on tour as well?

Last I heard it has 360 Face Cup like the Apex CF16 Iron. Should be nuclear! I hope the tip diam allows to put Tour AD DI Hybrid in it!

The tip diameter is .355 taper tip.

You can easily hand sand a .370 Tour AD shaft to fit, I have done it before 😀

Does anyone know when these are coming out? I've got some shop credit to use up before the end of the year and would like to use it on a driving iron.

You can order from Callaway with the AD DI Hybrid in it.  Or just sand down the shaft like HISPL said.

Unless I knew for sure I'd be hitting that 5 plus times a round I feel a hybrid is more versatile.  It is nice looking though...not so much a "stock" looking item IMO.

I hear you but these driving irons are very versatile too and decently playable out of the rough

Surprised to see a 30* option. I really like the low offset numbers, and being Forged I can bend these flat without issue

Occurs to me: They should have released a whole set of these... say, 2 to PW or 3 to PW.

Compete with the 718 T-MB, P790 and such.

Fair point. But addition of a 6 is plenty. Most of the market can blend in their other irons for 7-P. You really reap the benefits most in mid/long irons anyways

I don't disagree.

But take, say, the P790. I've been hitting the demo 7-iron of late... and I've never hit an 8-iron that would blend in behind this guy.

Could be much the same with the X-Forged '18 UT.

Again your points are valid regarding p790. But those are 2.5-3.5 strong. These are traditional lofts and a soft forging that can easily be bent weak. I highly doubt with proper adjustments both ways you’d face gapping issues with any iron in the callaway lineup including MB.

That’s my question.  How is it out or rough?  I carry a 4 hybrid because of that.  I could see replacing my 4 hybrid and 5 wood with two of these or Apex UT.
