I'm looking for somewhere different to play and I've never played or seen Willows Run. Anybody played these and which course is better to play. I typically like longer more challenging tracks... Thanks guys :D

A decent course in a nice location. However, it gets a lot of play. So, the downsides that come with that...

Both crap-holes in comparison to all the sweet and affordable golf you have down around T-Town.

They get waaaaay too much traffic, waaaaay too many East-siders that have the $$$ but ZERO skills, and charge waaaaaaay too much. So as a result they have super-crappy greens, expect a 5 1/2 hour round as standard, and if you play on the weekend you're tee time will be at least a 1/2 hour late.

Do yourself a favor and play one of Access Golf's other good courses down in your area like Druids Glen. In fact, I can list 10 courses that would be closer to you, cost less, and are better tracks (note that Washington National isn't on this list, besides being severely overpriced, it has all the same flaws as Willows).

1. Gold Mountain
2. Duh, the other Gold Mountain :)
3. Home Course
4. Trophy Lake (with an Oki card it's cheaper)
5. McCormick Woods (twilight or during the week)
6. Hawks Prairie-Woodlands
7. Hawks Prairie-Links
8. Druids Glen
9. Fort Lewis
10. High Cedars

The only course in this list I haven't played is Druids Glen. I've been looking into this one as well. Fort Lewis, in my opinion, is the biggest disappointment on this list. The course has such a great set up, but the greens are absolutely dreadful... All the other courses on this list are great. My favorite is Hawks. I've played there and at the Classic more than I can remember. Thanks again Crosier :D

I was just gonna say the same thing...

I used to play Willows as a kid and have played it recently. It's alright for a daily fee course if you're in the area, but nothing spectacular at all.

Agreed with steve only time I go play out there is when I'm in the area, its a decent course but nothing to drive out of the way for. Not many choices around the metro area I usually have to drive out of town to get to a nicer course. I would rather play the home course if I had the luxury of living in tactown.

willows has great twilight rates and is a fun course for mid handicap golfers. not amazingly challenging. It is decently dry for the area. Druids is a way better layout but doesn't drain as well. If you want to drive north try redmond ridge. or I have heard great things about OKI's newest purchase harbor point. other than that the others around the eastside that are good are all private.

Don't forget that they have dollar PBRs at Willows, and the twilight rates are pretty good. Probably one of the few courses in the country that offer GPS carts with dollar beers. The setup isn't bad, but the pace of play can be brutal. However, if you live in the Seattle area (especially the eastside) and are looking for a good place to play after work, this fits the bill. Eagle's Talon is the better of the two courses, by the way, though there isn't a huge difference. I would NOT pay full price to play here on a weekend day in the summer, though. Look elsewhere for that.

i have played willows run many times and both courses are fun. eagle talon is the more difficult and is more punishing of poor drives. both courses are very flat and easy walking and semi-links style. if the wind is up it will be a factor. have a great round

Good comment on the wind. that is what makes willows a truely fun course. a little bit of water, wind and wide open fairways. Of the two courses coyote creek is really a second shot course because it has a few really sucky greens(3,7,10,17) where you want to be on the right side of the green or level because three puts come into play.
