Where is Tommy Gainey?

I'm sure that he has been a victim of the dreaded "RE-SHUFFLE" that every Q-School graduate has to endure (other than the medalist of the Q-School.)
For those who don't know, just because there is a TOUR card won, doesn't mean that you get into everything. If someone finishes high enough at Q-School they get into the first few events on the West Coast Swing. IF they don't make enough money there is a re-shuffle of the rankings before Florida (I believe). If someone gets caught on the wrong side of the re-shuffle, they may not get into another event after the West coast until near the US OPEN!
(Ah, yes... the nature of the Q-School grad! Not exactly the total "dream" everyone thinks it is!)

Help me understand he went through Q school so how many events does he get to play in on Tour?
It depends upon the number of guys who want to play in a event and the number of sponsors exemptions he can get. At the start of the season, there is a ranking (Tiger is first) all the way down to the Q-School and NW guys. Everyone with a better number gets in before he does. Next, sponsors exemptions (Thanks John Daly) get spots.
Eventually, they reshuffle at least once, but he is already in the hole b/c of his inability to get in tournaments.
The good news, he will get into a lot of events into the summer as top guys play in the WGC and the FedEx Cup event and virtually all of the Fall Finish events.

He has a lot of work to do if he wants to keep that card. Of course he needs to get in events but honestly he needs to play better when he does.
