does that include the S4? Haven’t tried them since the $45 price tag

Played the Superhot Bold in Red today and Wow it’s a nice ball.  Drove the ball well, it really is good from tee to green. Don’t think I would pay $30 a dozen for them since the K3 is 1/2 the price but love the looks of the bright color and the ball has great feel.
Thanks for the write up! My course sells them at $7 for 3 so I will pick a few up today and give them a go. If I come back with all three I will have a good day!

Volviks are the worst. Unfortunately most 'tour level' players dont want orange, its such a small market. It's growing slowly, though....Taylormade has the Project-S in orange, and these superhot are not too bad, either.

Tried out the superhot red yesterday. When I got good contact these balls have good distance on the irons. Over shot the green with my 9i and landed a couple balls further than I was expecting. They are not too soft but not very "clicky" either. Decent feel around the greens with my 50 degree.

Cant miss these on the green or through the air! Nice shot with my 8i on a par 3.

I would like to see that matte finish in yellow or orange on some Chrome Soft's!  :)

I found a Volvik the last time out and it is kinda hard so put the matte finish on any softer ball!

I haven't really felt many but it feels like the feel is coming from the matte finish, I don't know though.

I've played this ball for a couple of weekends now but am having a hard time giving a good review because of poor play and even worse course conditions.

What I can say:

This ball is as long as any other ball I've hit. No distance loss to any tour ball.

It is noticeably softer on full shots and around the green compared to the Volvik.

Course conditions make anything else hard to tell as nothing I play is playing normal on the greens. We need some rain really bad.

I like the red. It's not gimmicky if you like being able to spot your ball just about anywhere on the course.

Bonus, people run in the distance as they think a meteor is coming at them! Red is the best visually I think, I picked up a yellow one as well and if the sun is bright that thing is damn invisible! During that bright/low awkward light around 6:30pm I hit a shot onto the green on a par 3 when the sun was shinning right on the green. From the tee I thought I completely missed! It wasnt until I was halfway there that I realized I knocked it to 4' from the pin! If you get these up high on your irons, and I do think they really get some height, they stick well on the greens.

For me the red stands bright, like a florescent color against almost any background. I have some older playing buddies that say they can't pick it up in the air but they can't find a white one most times either.

I havenít tried the red Superhot but Have tried the red Maxfli and Volvik matte balls. For me Iíd lose them once they bounced. With a yellow ball never an issue.

I am curious about the matte finish vs. standard glossy in regards to ball flight.

A) Initially, you would think that this would result in more wind resistance due to the rough, sandpaper like surface.

B)  However, is the matte finish just akin to micro-dimples. which in theory would increase distance?

You're right. All a person has to do is set a matte red and a yellow or white common gloss ball next to each other in the Fairway and walk out about 200 yards away and see which one stands out. I guarantee you it is the standard gloss ball you will be able to see but the matte red one disappears. I think some people like the matte colors so much they think they are the easiest to see as well. They simply are not.
so not true.  I don’t play these but I did buy 1 ball to play around with and with our group ,we all drive between 250-280 and the red was most visible in green grass.  It was so hi-vis from 150-200 out is actually looked bigger!  It was a bright sunny day in the Nevada desert so take it with a grain of salt , maybe in cloudy or overcast conditions it would be different , but is bright 95 degree sunshine the ball from Callaway simply glowed like Rudolph’s nose at Christmas

For those of you who think the matte colored balls are more highly visible than the standard gloss white or yellow golf balls you are totally mistaken. It almost sounds like you're forcing the issue because you like the uniqueness of the golf ball. It's okay to like the golf ball, but it sounds a bit delusional to think it is more visible than the standard golf balls. I guess some will think anything because they think it's cool.

not true....depends on a person's eye sight and course you are playing...I play a lot of courses with thick rough (no trees) and the bright orange balls are much easier to pick out....I also have terrible vision that contacts can't fix due to astigmatism.  Still, I haven't found the right color ball though

you may be right with the orange ones, I guess my experience was only with the Deep matte red ones. I couldn't believe how hard they were to see in the Fairway compared to a yellow Top Flite golf ball I put next to it.

There was one post in this thread that mentioned someone who said they could see them better than white. Said they hadn't been able to follow a white ball for years but could see these. No one is saying they're more highly visible at all.

Sooo.. what is your evidence that they aren't easier to see? Is it based on a real study or just your on course experience?

Well my personal on course experience says different. They're not hard to see at all and even "pop" to me and other guys I play with. The guys that I play with that can't see them, have a hard time finding a white ball as well.

I have no problem with anyone saying they have a hard time seeing them.

My problem is with people saying NO ONE can see them because if they can't, no one else can.

I meant I am done bickering back and forth, with you personally, about this subject. You can do whatever you want with others, I don't have any problems with that.

Ok, time to move on,
thanks

Thanks, threadmaster for letting us all know. It's a blessing having you around here to explain when the rest of us should or shouldn't keep posting.
I meant I am done bickering back and forth, with you personally, about this subject. You can do whatever you want with others, I don't have any problems with that.

I've been directly conversing with Mikey5e not yourself. Unless you're him and he's you which would be confusing.

Anyways, I'll be doing some extensive short game testing this afternoon, weather permitting, with this ball. I'll compare it against the ProV1, ProV1x, and Volvik Vivid.

Edit: I got rained out. Will try next week.

I would like to see that matte finish in yellow or orange on some Chrome Soft's!  :)

I found a Volvik the last time out and it is kinda hard so put the matte finish on any softer ball!

I think this is what you are looking for.  Super soft off the wedges and putter.

I played my last 2 rounds with this ball and really liked it off the irons, wedges, and putter...but, I lost distance off the tee box (which I don't need to)....this is the one ball that I've personally played that stops on a dime with wedges.....my playing partner (who only plays Pv1) couldn't believe how soft wedges and putts were.  I think PGASS has them for 2 dozen @ $35
