And Ping fails yet again....

Yea, the rest of the OEM's wish they failed as much as Ping.

When others companies make a better Dalehead than you and your the original... yeah I would say you failed. Look at the Dalehead they made for Lingmerth... that's a Dalehead, not this cheap crap.

Ping knows most of the golfing public ain't gonna pay for a putter like that.

I have a excellent short game. It's unfortunate that it starts on the Tee.

Why would a slightly different design/cnc program cost Ping more to produce (thus making them charge more)??

The fail, IMO, is yet another line with TR grooves. I’ve been saving my pennies in anticipation for the Dalehead 2.0, but with the TR grooves, I think I’ll pass.  I can maybe get with TR grooves on a cast putter, but not a milled one.  Kills the feel.

I've not tried an extensive variety of putters, so I'm just curious as to why you feel the TR grooves perform worse on a milled putter compared to cast?  Next time I'm at the local shop I'll roll a couple Sigma G options to see if I can tell the difference between the TR on those and the Vault line.

For me, using a milled putter is all about feel. I prefer the solid feel and the audio feedback a non-beached milled putter provides. IMO, the TR grooves dampen the feel and feedback too much.

TR grooves work as advertised, donít get me wrong. I think theyíre fine on the Sigma and Karsten lines, just not their premium milled line. Just my opinion, to each their own..

I agree. I like the TR tech but Ping needs a line of premium milled putters without TR grooves and that is non-plated. I still play a starshot redwood D66 and haven’t found anything that can beat it yet. I hope Ping expands the PLD line with more head shapes and custom options. That being said, I’m going to give this Dale Anser a look and hope I like it

From those pics, the plating is pretty disappointing and the finish has the same slightly cheap, chunky, plasticky look on the Anser as it did on the TR series - especially in the 'Copper' finish.  Unclear (to me) why Ping don't release a simple unplated/tumbled finish Anser - the last time they did was the Redwood, and people still love that range even now.

Also, it may look totally different in the hand, but a classic Dalehead is noticeably shorter in head length than an Anser 2. This new 'Dale Anser' looks closer to the latter, just with rounded bumpers.

I may be wrong, but I think that the silver finish one shown third is just raw stainless steel. I donít believe that any of the original vault putters in that finish were plated.

Happy to stand corrected on that. I actually like the copper finish (PVD or plating) on the Piper, but not on the Anser/Voss. Maybe I'm just being unreasonable as I'm used to the handsome dark patina on old Ping becus.

As was stated in the thread on the tour equipment forum, other than the face milling and weights, I fail to see the difference between this and the Lingmerth putter posted earlier in this thread.

I donít understand why people are so annoyed that the type of milling on Lingmerthís putter hasnít been released in the 2.0 Vault range. Correct me if Iím wrong but the milling looks identical to the milling on the Anser Milled range. While I know that the Anser Milled range does not have the weights on the face, I would imagine that the feel off his putter is near enough similar to that of the Anser Milled range albeit probably a more durable finish.
