So I'm a huge fan of the True Linkswear brand.  But like a lot of us, that love goes back to the originals, the Proto's, the Tours, and I even like the PHX.  We all know things took a turn for the worse in recent years.  The new originals look ok to me, but in reality, they are out of my price range.

This year I wore some Puma's for the first time.  I had the Biodrive Quicksilvers.  They were good, but not great.  The waterproofing wasn't the greatest considering there is a two year warranty.  Feet wouldn't get soaked, but a little damp.

So here's what I am looking for and hope someone can provide some insight/advice.  Dick's is the only store around me that has any golf stuff and their selection is limited.  So I need the help because most likely I have to buy sight unseen.

1.  Spikeless only
2.  I prefer the True Linkswear "feel"... the wide toe box, and barefootish feel.  I like the minimal or zero drop type of shoes.
3.  Must be waterproof as I play a lot of early morning, dewy type of rounds.
4.  My budget tops out around $75... obviously anything less is sweet.

I took a hard look at the New Balance 1005 Minimus shoes.  Price is right, checks all the boxes above, but some reviews I found on rockbottom's site has me skeptical.  More than one person noted an issue with the back of the shoe digging into their achilles.  Considering I have achilles issues... that wouldn't be good.  Any comments on those shoes?  Any or all advice would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Skechers Go Golf Elite 2 fit the bill. Can likely be had cheaper on Amazon than @ Dick's but hopefully Dick's has some to try on.

I tried some Skechers on at Dick's last night.  They might be the way to go... before I order a pair... anyone else have any thoughts?

It'll be tough to check all those boxes and that price point. But as stated above, I think the sketchers is a good route. MGS did a test and gave them #1 place and has to say something for that brand.

Try the New Balance NBG1006 Minimus SL.  The upper was updated, and the heel / achilles issues have been addressed.

I loved the original Trues. Had 4 or 5 pairs until they wore out.

Have both NB and Sketchers now.

Much prefer the Sketchers. I think I paid $99 for the Golf 2 spikeless.

I play 3-4 per week and walk 99% of the time. The Sketchers don't cause me any issues with my feet, while other shoes do (like FJ and Adidas).

Highly recommend Sketchers.

Bought the Skechers last year and I still can't figure out if I like them or not.  The footbed is incredibly soft and super comfortable to walk in.  The problem is, that its maybe too soft and comfortable.  Sometimes when I'm making a swing, I feel like I'm trying to swing while standing on a waterbed.  This is the first pair of Skechers I have ever had. I typically have worn Footjoy over the years with a few exceptions.
