I think the 716 CBs were such a big improvement over the previous model that it was difficult to get the same kind of buzz. I noticed zero differences between my 716s and the 718s,

I have played the 716s for the last 2 seasons and am in the process of making a shaft change to hopefully keep them for another 2 seasons.  I had to use the demo 718 head for a fitting because it was all the fitter had.  Head looks almost identical.  I felt like the 716 might be just a hair smaller, but that might have been my eyes playing tricks on me.  No feel difference.

I think Titleist's CB offering is one of the most consistently underrated irons out there.  Great clubs if you want a smaller profile with a little pop off the ball that you don't get from the blades.  Also always seem a little less bulky than the AP2s to me, although I could game the AP2s in a heartbeat as well.

I've a friend who's looking to buy the 718CB. I went with him to the shop and we hit the MB, CB, AP2, and T-MB. He pretty much liked them all, except the T-MB, but narrowed it down to the AP2 and CB, and is now leaning towards the CB as it's a bit more compact and cleaning looking than the AP2.
I also hit the MB, T-MB, CB, AP2 at a decent demo, and the CB was the best of the bunch to me, although I would consider an T-MB long iron or two (I'm worried about distance control in the shorter T-MB irons). I think Titleist make some of the best CBs, out there. Very blade-like.

Plenty of talk on here about the 718 series of irons from Titleist, but so far not much on the CB's!
Are they getting much love or flying under the radar?
I myself have just experienced them for the first time tonight and they were an absolute joy to hit.
same as 716 which isnt far from 714 and 712.....not much to say

Classic cb, great looks, small package...if you got game hard to beat really

I got a sweetheart deal on a set of 716 CB 2-8 and MB 9&pw that where basicly new with AMT X100 shafts. I'm going to play them today but I don't see them being able to kick my mp18 combo set out of the bag. I do think they are absolutely beautiful irons though!

Ill throw this in thread because most dont know this. The cb isnt a one piece forged club, it has a high strength steel face, small cavity in the muscle for 2-7 irons

I am sure theyre a solid club, but Im curious whether they perform any differently than the 716.

I have a fitting appointment in two hours and theyre on the short list of irons I intend to try, along with the AP2, MB, and Mizuno MP 18.

Ill do a write-up later tonight with my results/thoughts.
curious of your thoughts

After my initial fitting I played about 5 rounds with them and my opinion changed back that the AP2 is the better club.  After selling the CB and buying the new 718 AP2s I am much happier with my consistency and the feel is just as good.

I'm I looooove with my 718cb combo, I've got the 5-pw cb, 4tmb, then the 21 818h2. The sole grind is just so good(for me at least) if you're a bit more of a steep/digger, but still do well with a narrow sole/overall profile

http://www.golfwrx.c...-tpi-oceanside/
I'm only off one club, carry a (3) 718 t-mb GD shaft as driving iron, love CB's 4-pw; 716 were nice, don't know what was done to make these a little more good than were, but do feel a bit better somehow. As for 818 H2, love it! So compact, brings me back to older tour issue proto TMAG Rescues, but this trumps all hybrids I've played. Bag is most part Tileist, but couldn't be happier with set-up at moment. Has nothing to do with being a "fan", just most comfortable irons since my MP64's....and my "WITB" shows some rather reputable irons....(more Mizuno's, PXG's, titleist) and these aren't going anywhere anytime soon. See next what Titleist 719's, mizuno offers; but until then, I'm happy

This is correct. First time Titleist has done that with this particular model, but it also is a factor in making them more playable than the 716. The 718CB are to me the best looking CB out there, have a little more pop than the 716CB and are as forgiving as some previous AP2s. I see it as a club that competes with Mizuno JPX900 Tours or MP18SC or the TM P750 or iBlades.
Current lineup:

Callaway Rogue driver, 9 degree, Project X Evenflow Blue S, 75g.
Callaway XR16 3 wood, 15 degree, Fukijura Evo II shaft
Callaway Apex hybrid, 20 degree, Kuro Kage 80HY stiff shaft
Wilson Staff C300 Forged irons, 4-PW, Nippon Modus 105 X shafts
Mizuno S5 gap wedge, 50.08, Nippon 1150 GH Tour shaft
Wilson Staff PMP Tour wedge, 56 degree, tour grind, KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 shaft
Fourteen RM12 58.12 sand wedge, Dynamic Gold wedge shaft
Edel Rogue putter (thick blade), 34 inch, 71 degree lie, 2 degrees loft.
COMING: TaylorMade Hi-Toe wedge, 60 degree

yep, and thats the whole reason they did it, for more forgiveness. However much that little cavity brings who knows. As far as a small profile cavity back, there isn't much competition out there for it. jpx900 tour head is much bigger footprint, mp18 sc has a larger footprint as well. Only one in my mind that is a competition with similar size is the p750 but they for some reason decided to mill the cavity and make them 300 more and priced them out of the market. Who really needs a milled cavity, lol

I'm a Titleist iron guy and still gaming my 716 cb's from release day.

I got to hit the 718 from a friend who is a Titleist fitter with the same shaft as mine.

Minimal differences from my perspective. Not enough to get me to switch.

What does stand out is the club head feels slightly heavier and has a more heavy solid feel on contact.

I am thinking of going 718 mb 7-9 though and leaving my 4-6 cb's in the bag.

If you're gaming any 714 or lower model, the 718 cb will make a world of a difference.

Not that this really matters too much but I haven't seen one pro playing the CB's. Plenty playing the AP2's. If you know of any pro's playing them - please post.

I see 718CB's as very similar to 716CB's, which I been playing since the first of the year.  They fly under the radar because Titleist, for reasons, tends NOT to advertise them or the MB's.  Which makes sense, better decision to market their easier to hit club heads.

I really like my 716CB's and will soon buy matching 716 MB 7-PW.

I bought a set of 718 CBs for cheap, just wanted to try them. 2 rounds in and I have no complaints. They look perfect, and feel unreal. My distances were spot on unlike my P790s, and they really worked well with the turf. Long irons are,not hard to hit at all, and the short irons are lasers. WAY better than the AP2s which I didn't like at all.

Can you order 7-9 irons? I was gonna pick up some mb heads for when I wear out my cbs

Last I heard from LGS guy individual clubs could be ordered but he wasn't sure if the order would be filled.  Not sure about clubhead only.

Trying to decide between 718cb and jpx tour,

Tough decision but good thing is between those two you can't make a bad decision!
JPX feels softer but CB I would rate as slightly more forgiving
