I did alright betting last year on majors, I missed the Masters, but I had Koepka, Thomas and Matsuyama on the last 3 majors (HM was only down for 2/3, making 8 bets). I almost 10x my down, BK was the big odds. I don't bet very often, but I did memorably pick Bubba's breakout major too, which was 64/1. That was all gut instinct, I've joined a tipping comp (its only 10 events) and decided to be a bit more methodical.

For this short comp, your score is what the player you pick scores, lowest score after the 10 events (across 4 tours) gets largest share of pool etc etc. So with a short season, even though you can't pick the same person twice, you've gotta try to pick not only a winner, but someone who you don't think will have a blowout.

I made a spreadsheet, listed the top 25 scoring averages for the season, checked off who was entering the tournament and then added the last 3 tournament scores (in relation to par) and finally what they scored last year at that tournament. Then I ranked who I thought was the highest contender using approximately the order of priority listed.

Anybody willing to share their thoughts?

I like to tee the ball up.. using man sized clubs.

Still need some more, but it's pretty likely I'll come.  Just don't know when yet.

Have you used that formula to see how you would have done in already completed tournaments?  You have any spreadsheets or databases to do this past analysis for you?

I wish Shotlink would allow us to use their stats for our personal (read: gambling) use.

In a word no.

Half of Shotlink existence is for the pros so they know strengths & what to practice.

Other side is being able to follow player/ tournament and understand how good the pros are.

No to what?  If I had their stats, it would greatly help me figure out a successful gambling strategy.
