I have always admired JDM stuff especially Miura's craftsmanship. Never thought I would have the handicap let alone cash to own the club.
I started by trading a high end custom putter that didn't suit my stroke for a pair of Miura 1957 wedges C and Y grind 53 bent to 55 and 57 bent to 59. Amazing feeling wedges and I knew I needed irons.
Then i acquired a set of CB-501 irons my dream set for next to nothing due to heavy wear. Well I knew I would get them refinished. So I purchased a matching 1957 Gap Wedge of 51 bent to 50.
They have been out for refinish and i just got this picture from the shop saying there back and are being built and will be ready for pick up this week. I can't wait to get them back in the bag! I went with a Copper finish with brushed black nickel. I think this will wear well and show the copper underlay as the club patina. Kinda a torched/ becu Ping look. Can't wait for paint fill which will be Tiffany blue. They will go in to my Carbon fibre miura bag that i picked up as well.

So while I was just trying to dip my toe into the JDM market I have fallen right in headfirst.
Before and after photos. I will update once paint fill and assembly is done.

I know how you feel. I went crazy this summer and picked up CB-501's and had them refinished in a 2x oil can finish from BOS, love them. Then I picked up a set of black copper itobori blades and have been gaming those ever since. You can see from my signature that I love the JDM goods - I still need to take some pictures and post them up!

Not sure. This was the first set they have done in this finish so only time will tell. I'm hoping the cooper underlay will become more pronounced on the soul and face as I play them. The rest of them should darken a bit and patina over time.
I did two different paint fills to decided and I think the full Tiffany paint looks best.

Technically Baby Blades and Y, C, and K Grind Wedges are all USDM lines.

There was Miura Giken: Japan, and Miura: United States. And technically that statement is false too because US Headquarters was/is in Canada.

Chip Usher and a couple other folks around here could probably give you a better explanation than I.

The y grind 1957 wedges are amazing. I would recommend them to anyone. I was so happy to get those back in the bag.
After a weeks use now the copper is really coming out on the face and sole of the wedges. Going to give it a really interesting look. Posted Image

Yea. That 51 Y Grind is SICK!

If I didn't have four Hand Grinds, I'd definitely be playing that wedge. Hell, I might eventually add one just for kicks.
