I've heard they're just the same as the regular new balls, only with minor cosmetic blemishes and "Practice" stamped on them. Anyone had any experiences with playing Practice balls? Thinking of picking some up!

Go for it.  I used to pick up the Practice Pro V's and had good luck with them.  They are a great way to save money during casual rounds.

Dunhams in my area has RZN Platinum Tour Practice balls for $8 per dozen in baggies.  Great balls!

From what I understand they are the same ball only in cheaper packing.  It gives the company a way to move balls at a  lower price without breaking agreements with wholesalers and retailers.  I could be wrong but that is what I have read. They are not X outs, practice balls are legal in tournaments X outs are not.

Same balls but with minor cosmetic blemishes and/or doesn’t meet manufacturing tolerances for quality.  Basically instead of throwing them away they sell them for a cheaper price to still make profit but they in theory won’t perform as consistently as the non practice balls.

Actually X-Out balls are legal in tournaments under certain circumstances.

https://www.usga.org...AQidx=16&Rule=5

Rule 5-1

Status of "X-Out" and "Practice" Balls

Q.May I use an "x-out" ball or a ball stamped with "Practice" to play a round of golf?

A.Our present policy provides that if the List of Conforming Golf Balls or the One Ball Condition is in effect, a practice or logo ball may be used provided the other markings on the ball (i.e., pole and seam) correspond exactly to a ball listing on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls. Balls labeled with “PRACTICE” or a circled “P”, are essentially treated as a logo ball (such as a Mickey Mouse emblem). A player's name stamped on the ball is also acceptable. However, the original ball markings (i.e., pole and seam markings) must be readable in order for a Rules Official to determine whether that ball is on the List of Conforming Golf Balls. X-Out balls are not permitted to be used in any competition in which the List of Conforming Golf Balls or the One Ball Condition is in effect. However, if neither of these Conditions are in effect, X-Out balls may be used because all balls are presumed to conform unless they have been tested and found not to conform or are obviously non-conforming (e.g., too small or too heavy). (See Decisions 5-1/4).

I bought 10/30 dozen of the Lethal's and sent a bunch off to people who didn't have access to them.  Have done the same with the KSigs.  Really liked the Lethal ball though!

It was a couple of years ago on Woot.  It flashed twice and was gone.  They had 2 dozen balls basically taped together and they counted it as 1 SKU which is why you got 3 dozen balls for $9.99.

Isn't that the Gods honest truth...

I play and practice with my gamer, but I have the luxury of buying them 10 dozen at a time. Always have a lot of golf balls. :)

Played a match this weekend. I found a pro v1 in good shape the day before and figured id play it. Previous owner had a big sharpie alignment line on it and halfway through the match it wore off and read PRACTICE. Played no different.

Whats everyone do for practice balls in shag tubes? Just throw the old gamers in when they get beat? Use cheaper balls? Obviously would want similar feel and distance for short game. Mines all old tour balls from various companys.

I would play them for that price!  lol

I have played the Nike RZN Tour Platinum Practice ball from Dunham's every now and then.  Seems like very good ball to me and I ended up hooking up some guys on here with like 5 dozen each when they were selling them for $7.99 a dozen.

Now even though they are not a practice ball, I wish someone would hook me up with some K-Sig's to try without trying to get Ebay pricing from me!
