I received this painting from someone I did some work for.  It's hanging on the wall in my computer room and I think it's awesome!

I do know it is called The Skins Game and was done by Bernie Fuchs in 1984 of Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus at Oakmont CC.  Mr. Fuchs signature is on the painting in the lower right hand corner by Jack's leg.  It is not a one of a kind or anything.

I have also seen online that a few were autographed by all four players and those have sold at auction for $400-$650.  A few are also unsigned and not in great shape on the bay for about $100.  Since I will never be able to have all four autograph it and don't plan on selling it regardless, this information doesn't concern me or matter to me.  Simply stating what I have found.

What I would like to know is more information on the painting or the story behind it.  If anyone has any info about it, please enlighten me.  If anyone just wants to comment on how cool the painting is, go for it.  I think it's pretty sweet!

Really enjoyed looking up the artwork and the artist. Interesting background. One site I found identifies your work as "The Perfect Foursome".

Shame on me up to this point but was not familiar with the artist. Knew about Nieman but not Fuchs.

He was an amazing artist who came from a humble background and was in high demand.

Definitely one to keep on your wall!

I think it's actually 1983 at Desert Highlands.

If you do a bit of google image searching, you'll find a bunch of photos from the events over the years - given that their clothing is relatively distinctive, it's easy to see that this was 1983.

I have played DH numerous times, but had to look up the plaque I remembered seeing. The wardrobes look near identical to the plaque commemorating the inaugural skins game.

Here is a different color photo from D.H, as well

Arnie's green pants and Watson's purple sweater are the giveaways. That combination couldn't possibly happen more than once.
