Bought them for my father in law. Supposed to be softer than he current proV, which has become harder and harder over the past few years to the point that he ProV’s were too close to the X (according to the rep)

Wow, I can't believe they sell them and Pro V's for $48 a dozen.  I won't try the AVX's til I find them at one of the well known used golf ball sites and hopefully they will have them in the yellow!  :)

They are supposed to be a top tier ball like the ProV but softer. Maybe more suited to the average golfers ACTUAL swing speed, which is probably too low to get everything out of the current ProV1

I always get my Chromies for way cheaper than that as I buy AAAA or AAAAA ones which saves me more than $20 a dozen!  I did pay $29 a dozen once for new yellow X ones cause I couldn't find them anywhere used for a good price and that was even hard to pull the trigger on them!  :)

In general, I agree with what everyone is saying. A top tier ball is a top tier ball and I don’t see a reason to pay $48 when I could pay $40 or less. As far as how they compared to the ProV1; same spin, same distance, just felt softer. Really liked it, but it just felt like a B330 RX to be honest. No need to pay close to $50 unless you nursing some confirmation bias or you just got the money to blow.

If they become a real product for wide release, I figure it'll be some time in fall or winter of 2018 before I can find some for $30/dozen or so on eBay. That's when I'll try a couple dozen of the yellow ones.

Beyond the yellow cover, I can't see any conceivable advantage over the ProV1/ProV1x if the MAP is similar.

The only logical explanation would be the phasing out of the Pro V or the X, but if they really do such a crazy thing they better have the best marketing team in the world ready to convince people. I just don’t see why they would have 3 balls at that price point, but their price tiers are already whacky with the NXT lines being $36

Really ? Do you find the current ProV1 on eBay for $30/doz ?

This seems to make some sense. I just happened to see the new AVX at PGATSS and was surprised to see the $48 preice. Guess I kinda thought they'd show up somewhere around $40 or so.

Perhaps, as another poster suggested, the V1 and V1x had become too similar and this will replace one of them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

When Titleist announced this ball a few weeks back they stated it would be the same price as the current Pro V1/V1X lineup. What's cra cra is people on Ebay paying $60+ a dozen plus shipping for them. The AVX seems to be the same ball minus the pearlescent cover as the Japanese version of the Prestige that one can get for $19.99/dozen at WRX sponsor Mortons Golf. 352 dimples, 3 piece 1 cover, urethane.
