Hey Fella's,

I tried to find a thread on the new Callaway Driver and didn't see one, so here's everything I know.

-no pics out yet-

Callaway Rogue Driver.
Standard: No sliding weight
D Type : 2 weights: heal and back
Sub Zero - 2 weights: front and back

Jailbreak is still the big feature
stock shafts are : Even flow/PX HZDUS Yellow/ Adila Synergy + (One other light weight shaft)
I'm sure there's 85 other shafts you can have at No upcharge*

Color Scheme is a lot of black with a blue/light blue color

Footprint is a little bigger than this years (17% iirc)
Reinforced the carbon fiber throughout
Bottom has a refined look of the Nike Vapor Flex, but no cavity. Again, all black

Fairways have Jailbreak. NO COG. The cog was too heavy to incorporate with the new head. Glued Head
Standard head + Sub Zero Head (Not sure if the SZ Model is a low profile)
Word on the street is the fairways are going to blow people away. Ball speeds through the roof

Also a Rogue Hybrid. No Cog. Similar look to the Epic Hybrid but with Jail break (I'm 90% sure it has jailbreak, maybe not)

That's all I can remember, I just saw catalog pictures!

Cheers

Does it have the Boeing stuff on the crown?  I'm not a fan of that.  Would like to go back to a more simple look.

Also surprised Rogue is the name, since Aldila had a shaft with that name.

Yeah name caught me off guard too. I didn't see any good pics of the crown. I'm thinking it should be similar to the epic style graphics

I've always liked Callaway's drivers, but man, I wish they'd come up with some better names.

Hit it last night....feel was incredible off the face of the 3 wood. Think M2 2017 with a little more of a ting sound similar to the 913 series, and more of a pop than a thwack....,

I had a similar thought the other day when I took a few old clubs in on trade....Diablo Edge, Octane, Razr hawk, Legacy...If the other guys can get away with just using numbers then so can Callaway. I didn't mind XR and I understand that big bertha has been around forever.

I bought one so clearly the name didn't bother THAT much. But, I still think it sounds dumb. At least it's not BIG BERTHA ALPHA 815 DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND.

What I really don't like is that we all have to use a short hand for Callaway drivers. I just say I have an "Epic Sub Zero" if anyone asks. But really that club is called the "Great Big Bertha Epic Sub Zero." What a mouth full.

XR16 is 2 years remove, so ... it would a replacement for them

However, I am assuming they are going ROGUE by adding a new line instead of XR18, etc..

Farely excited they'll bring JB into the woods. I'm still in love with my XR16 look, but maybe a little bit better sound/feel and a touch of ball speed, plus a glued head???

Yasssssssssssssss!!!

Driver meh, I think my M2 will last me a long time, I don't really see a reason to switch. Like the sound, like the looks. I don't think I'll ever get rid of my JPX 850, it's probably the best hybrid I've ever hit, it's literally perfect in every way. I could see my 816 getting the boot.... but then again I'd probably just go buy a jpx 850 for $50 and toss a new shaft in.

Samples are probably in most reps hands by now but after last year Im assuming all will be more careful..

Im not a fan of glued heads but with the Jailbreak added it makes sense...just have to make sure you have a clue about a certain aftermarket shaft you hit well because I can't see tons of different models with different shafts in demo bags.

Two questions...

Will there be a 440cc option?

What does the crown look like?

That's honestly all I care about at this point.

440 is a negative but who knows what comes to past from now to PGA show

What Im interested/excited about is.. now that is has been a full year what Toulon brings to the Odyssey line and what Rock brings to Callaway balls ( nike platinum, etc were awesome)
