Received mine the other day and just didn't get around to uploading my initial images and thoughts.

So initial thoughts are that it is a very nice looking driver. Much better looking in hand than from the pictures I saw online. Head shape is not overly large in appearance and the crown technology is not even that noticeable at address. Think of it like this, its the same as how the look of the M1/M2 look just without the carbon fiber or say the way the BioCell looks (will take some compare pics when I take it out this weekend). Really excited to hit this club now and cant wait to take it out.

Thanks to Cleveland and GolfWRX for the opportunity to test out this new driver!

I have the following spec of the driver
Loft: 10.5 with Stiff shaft and standard length
Swing speed, last time I checked was around 93 (+/- 2)

--- Range Update ---

Tried it out at the range, here are my first impressions

- Very stable and balanced shaft, the feel you get when swinging it is awesome, kind of encourages you to swing it faster, I am sure the lighter weight of this shaft is suiting my swing speed a lot.

- The club at address has a nice look to it and frames the ball well. The crown with the step in it kind of gives it a somewhat of a shallower or flattened look. Will post some pics of it comparing it to 915 D2 & M2.

- Face is ultra forgiving, more forgiving than the 915 D2 or M2, off center hits don't get penalized as much

- Ball flight was similar to 915 D2, distance seemed to be a bit better for me, but hard to judge on the range, will have to wait to play to find that out.

- Sound is very nice, not very loud as I was expecting from it, I should record the sound next time around. I like the sound of this driver and also the sound of 915 D2, M2 sound is not as pleasing to my ears.

- Overall, if this works as good on the course as it did on the range, it is going to be a keeper! Time will tell.

--- Playing Update ---

Played two rounds over the weekend at two different hilly courses.

To sum it up in short ..."Plays long and straight with forgiveness".

I did have to adjust my tee height a fraction lower given that this head is a bit flattened out. Once I had it teed up at the lower height, it was just a pleasure to hit this driver.

The sound is a bit loud when you do hit it on the sweet spot, but not overly loud, I like that sound!

Distance wise, it is closer to M2 for me and out drives my D2.
Forgiveness wise, it beats both the M2 and D2 for me.

The one thing, I can say about this driver is that it is going to save you a lot of money and time. First off it is less expensive than buying an adjustable driver and second off the most important point, you will not spend your time on BST looking for another shaft for your driver to try out :)

We had a thread to sign up a few weeks ago and picked the testers from that thread. I used the same graphic as the sign up thread and that was probably what was misleading. I have edited the graphic so it is no longer asking for testers.

Received my today. Love the color scheme, black and hints of blue.  The look of the hibore crown is really not noticeable when addressed. Mine feels somewhat on the flatter side. I will do a few more range sessions before a in-depth review. First impression is awesome. Coming from 70 grams shafts and adjustable hosel, it took a few swings to get use to the weight. Sound is close to the Ping G driver. Forgiveness is great. Few toe and heal hits and still straight and vary little yardage lost. Again, in-depth in a few days.  Posted ImagePosted Image

So got out to the range today and was quite pleased with the performance.  The club name is very suiting because it does "launch" the ball. The drive I received is the 9 degree and it launched very well, but didn't balloon on me. Maybe launched a tad bit higher than my gamer (BioCell+ @ 9.5*). Some of this is probably due to shaft profile and using a 50g compared to 60g that I use in my gamer. This club does feel very light and i think that is mostly due to the shaft. The sound is very similar to what I remember of the old Cleveland driver lines. Only able to hit it on the range so far, but will be interested to see how it performs on the course. It seems very forgiving on miss hits, but when hit on the screws....its like a cannon. Even with the forgiveness it seems to be a reasonably workable driver. I think a heaver shaft and a little hotmelt to mute sound and add a little more head weight would make it really perform for me. Here are some pics and a video.

Distance was about the same if not more carry (~265 - 275 yards). This was just using a range finder and spotting where it landed. Don't have or know of a launch monitor close, but have a buddy that has a pretty accurate simulator and can maybe hit it there to get an idea (it is pretty accurate with irons that I've tested before, but drivers has trouble with spin). Dispersion was as good compared with my gamer setup, but think it could have been a little better with a heavier shaft. All that being said, this was more of a get to know you/feel test run and hope to get some more info/data later.

Even with the light shaft, was not unbearable to control or feel where the club head was. Took a little while to get used to, but with a few swings wasn't bad. Could go at it hard and not feel like the club head got lost in my swing or anything. Was really surprised.

I feel like I'm reviewing the shaft more than the club here and sorry about that. The driver is really nice and cant wait to get it back out. The first shot I hit with it my jaw dropped to be honest. Very positive review/feelings about this club at this point in time.

(Hope people understand what I'm trying to say, just hard to give too much feedback after only one range session.)

First, let me thank GolfWRX and Cleveland for choosing me to test out the new Cleveland Launcher HB Driver.  Some quick background information on me.  I play off a 12 handicap, my swingspeed is right around 88 mph, and I'm currently gaming a Cobra LTD driver with a Diamana 60S+ regular flex shaft.  My average drive is between 230-240 yards.  The HB setup that I chose was the 10.5* loft with the regular flex shaft from Miyazaki in 50 g.

Overall, I really liked the look of the driver.  I know a lot of SGI drivers can be gigantic and poorly-frame the ball, but this was suitable to my eye.  However, this driver definitely is closed at address, which makes sense for a SGI driver.  It is without a doubt, the lightest driver I've ever gamed.

I was able to play 27 holes last weekend (thank you weather gods).  This Driver is loud.  There is not other way to say it.  I would say it makes a sound similar to an aluminum bat in softball.  If that is a deal-breaker than this driver is not for you.  My miss with this club was definitely left-of-left.  It wasn't so much a duck hook, but it did take some getting used to before you could straighten it out.  However, once The Driver and myself got more acquainted (insert dirty joke here _____) it performed really well.  I got a nice penetrating flight with some decent roll out.  It carried as far as my current gamer does, but it definitely saves you yardage on the mishits.  It is super forgiving for off-center hits.  The combination of performance and price on this driver shoots it to the top of the list for SGI Drivers in my opinion.

I'd like to re-shaft this driver with something just a touch heavier in the 60 gram range.  The stock shaft from Miyazaki is just too light for me.  Also, the lack of adjustability with this Driver was not an issue for me whatsoever, but it might be for you fellas that enjoy tinkering.  I'd be interested to see how this performs for any of the guys that have faster swing speeds and a bit stouter of a shaft.

Thanks again and feel free to send me any questions.

Love this diver. It will be in the bag next season. One more range session and feel more comfortable with the weight.
