Thought Spieth's song was creative, hilarious and completely inappropriate.  I can't imagine any other 3 time major champion acting like that.  I really hope he doesn't become the face of golf.  At times he is thoughtful, introspective and mature, while other times he acts like a frat boy or a 13 year old who lost the kickball game and is taking his ball and going home.

You realize he was repeating the most creative song he heard from the 1st tee when asked by the press? It came from the fanatics along with a slew of others for every player. Do some homework before jumping to judgement.

I do realize that but he was clearly buzzed and he was loving singing it.  It wasn't a difficult question to blow off or give a wry smile and say "they had a cool song about Si Woo".

I could be the "get off my lawn" old guy but can't see any other great champion acting like this.

Refreshing to have guys speak their mind then worry about the PC Police. There was nothing malicious or mean spirited about a funny song parody. Your being that old guy. They were all cracking jokes the whole presser on each other and this was no different. If anything it was a breath of fresh air to not listen to Spieth talk about how well WE did.

Spieth is a mostly very well spoken 24yr old, he interviews well, he credits subordinates like his caddy to an almost nauseating degree, he seems very well liked by peers who he mostly beats regularly (which is not easy to accomplish).

We're just really, really hard on him. I am not sure why.

Huh. Most people complain that golf is too boring. That they are tired of seeing robots with no emotion on the course or taking questions.

Every single time DJ talks to the media there's a new thread on here complaining that he's boring or slow or something like that. (I don't agree, for what it's worth)

I guess you can't please everyone.

Bingo and dead on.

Too many people trying to play thought cops and determine what should and should not be said.

Censorship, in any form, is a very dangerous thing. Far too many in our modern society have forgotten just how dangerous it can be if left unchecked.

In my measure Jordan was having a little fun, no one was offended who was involved directly in said fun and the PC Police need to move on. There's nothing in this one.

In the press conference after the 1999 Ryder Cup Payne Stewart was clearly not sober. Slurred words, repeated himself, was only missing a "you think you're better than me?"  It was glorious.

Who on this site wants to be a young, pga tour millionaire that hits it short and crooked off the Tee. They’d rather be broke, 10 caps who hit it 350 down Main Street.

Yeah shame on Spieth for enjoying a team win and making a press conference actually enjoyable to watch. How dare he look like he's having fun!

I will say this.  I do miss the tiger press conferences where he just stares a hole through the media members to let them know how little he cares about their questions.  This one was ok for fun. But I wouldn't want to see frat boy night every week.

I think he possibly didn't sing the song properly. Since the actual song goes, "I See you baby, shaking that a**, shaking that a**", He forgot to add the "baby". So it should have been "I Si Woo baby, shaking that a**, shaking that a**." That's what I'm assuming it should sound like, which sounds even more hilarious and makes more sense. Maybe Jordan just can't carry a tune. HAHAHA.

I think Si Woo was more embarrassed than insulted. As long as he's cool with it, we shouldn't give a F.

Also I gotta say, and maybe I'm reading too much into it but the song was damn creative. Sung to the tune of "I see you baby, shakin that a**, shakin that a**." I think that, "I Si Woo Baby" is pretty well done. Hats off to the creator.

edit: above beat me to it.

I am interested in having fun like everyone else too, but does everything that is fun have to have the words a**, f***, s***, d***, b**** and whatever other four letter words some uncouth person wants to use be attached to it?  We live in such a miserable culture these days that it seems like if sex, alcohol, crude language or several other things are not involved with something then it's considered no fun, and people who don't like it are described just like the first poster has been labeled.

It's to the point that another thread on here comes from golf.com's mystery tour pro about smoking pot before or during a round. If a person's life is so miserable or golf is so boring that if you can't have fun without getting get drunk, toke a joint or see some T&A, maybe a little self-examination is in order.

You sound like what I assume everyone sounds like that doesn't live on one of the coasts

Ouch, c'mon man. Don't lump us all into one sweeping generalization. The view that coastal cities and their residents are better, more cultured or whatever adjective you want to use is ridiculous and gets old.

So in this crazy world, a parody song that happens to have a "bad" word in it really isn't this big of a deal you're making it out to be.

Also, probably don't wanna start bringing up posts from a locked thread..

Yea.  I'm on the fence here with the woo a** song. But I agree with you on the broader scope.  People I know today can't seem to have fun without enebriation.  I usually stay quiet aboot it as I know I was born square and I'm ok with that.   But it's hit home and is tough now that I have a kid to raise.  Some  heavy explaining I have to do at times to answer why we don't talk a certain way , or act a fool like a lot of kids do in public.  What's labeled as "fun" today was considered unacceptable behavior when not behind closed doors where I grew up.

Words that ring in my head from my grandfather as a teenage boy.  " boy ....there's talk that's for your grandmothers kitchen table and then there's talk that's for only around the barn.  Remember which is which or you'll feel the back of my hand across your face ".
Context was that he farmed and basically meant to be respectful of your surroundings. Having a cuss fight or fit might be ok while feeding the cows or cleaning the stalls... But that certain things weren't to be said in mixed company or in front of a lady or at the table.    I had let something slip out at the table earlier and he was calling me on it.      Now of course that's old fashioned. But there's some common sense in there that still applies.

Was this across the line ?  Like I said I'm on the fence.  Would I have done it on camera ?  Nope.  But I'm not really shocked or offended either.  So.  On the fence.
