Going to be in Miami for a weekend and wanted to get a round in while I'm there. Can anyone recommend some good public courses for under $100?

Public golf in Miami is somewhat iffy... not many great places IMO.

However, there are a few places worth the visit. Best place in the area for quality public golf is Crandon, down in Key Biscaine. I believe it used to host a Champions Tour event. It's a nice layout, with good conditioning. The sights of downtown Miami for the course are great!

The Biltmore is another course I enjoyed. Good old Ross design with interesting green contours.

I hope you have a good time there!

It's been about 10 years since I lived there, but all of the locals thought Crandon was better than the Blue Monster back then. I never played Doral, so I can't compare, but Crandon is nice.  the rates are close to $100 if you're not a Dade County resident.

There were a few courses I liked that were well under $100, but I believe most have closed since I was there. The one that's still open is Miccosukee. It tended to be a bit crowded when the others were open, so I have no idea what it's like now. It used to host a Web.com event.

I played 3 whilst I was there last December from the UK - Crandon, Miami Beach, and the Biltmore.  Headed down to Key West for a round too which was an experience.

IMO Crandon was the pick of the bunch - a good challenge, variety of holes, and I was paired with a PGA pro who had come down from Carolina and hadn't played too much. He was surprised to be paired with the only English guy on the property.

Range was good, hospitality and bar were excellent and the track in great condition.  This was December '16.
