I love the non-taper or minimal taper feel of the MCC +4 grip but prefer the texture of the z cord.   How would I build up the z cord to feel like the MCC+4.

I was thinking one full length of grip tape, one that is 3 inches shorter than the full length and one three inches shorter than that
( working from the bottom up).

Anyone else try this?

+4 refers to 4 additional wraps of tape which is under the lower hand only.

That's what the +4 is mimicking.

Yes, and long before MCC 4 came to the marked.

It works.  Listen to Howard.  I still use this method when building up.

I also used a modified version of this method with 3 wraps instead of 4.  The stagger on the wraps of tape make the transition very smooth.  If you blow the grips on with air you only have to do the extra layers once instead of each time you re-grip.
