I have a 54 and a 58 and they set "the standard" for wedges imho. Mine are in mint condition and I guess I want them to stay that way for they're not in my bag.
I've had the MD2's, MD2 TG's, a MD3 in 50* and currently play the MD Forged wedge. The MD Forged wedge comes the closest in feel I think.

I agree, I still have a set in my second bag. Best wedges I've ever hit. I sometimes fantasize that Callaway will decide to re-release these, exact same everything except conforming grooves. Vintage finish only. I would stockpile.

I think Chip Brewer heard you, rumor has it there is a new X-Forged coming out in '18. It's under another thread.

In the event I need to get new wedges,  I will be going with the MD Forged no questions asked. They are fantastic wedges. I will add that I have the Tour Finish which rusts and they are even softer then the Chrome version (which are awesome as well).

Lastly, when I started seeing a decrease in spin...I ran a small flat headed screwdriver through the grooves about 50 times and brought the wedge face back to life... like day one (I essentially sharpened the grooves with a homemade groove sharpener which I've performed this technique on my old SM2s with fantastic results.) I highly recommend doing this to ANY wedge that needs to be brought back to life. It will also save you at least $9-15 on a groove sharpener.

Long live the X-Forged!

Hopefully it's not just the name being brought back.

The irons are being brought back,  but no mention of our X-forged Wedges.  😒
