Yesterday, I was playing with a buddy and two others that we were partnered up with.  on the eighth hole I mess up approach and land in some crap about 10 yards to right of an elevated green.  I hit my third and I flop it too far and it hits the golf cart.  we search for a minute for my ball and as I was about to take a drop one of the other guys find it in his tennis shoe in the cart.  so apparently it hit the floor of the cart bounced and hit the roof and landed in his shoe.  That is my only hole in one so far.
what weird places has your golf ball ever ended up?

It only hurts once, except golf it hurts a lifetime

Nothing too funny but I did end up right on the 150 yard plate on our course.  Of course I then asked my playing partner to use his rangefinder and give me the yardage to the pin!!!!!

My friend bladed a ball out of a sandtrap through an open screen door into someone's house who lived right off the course.

It was a one in a million shot man

Not my shot, but this is the craziest one I've seen:
Corporate golf tournament a few years back one of the guys on my team hit one into the tee marker. It ricocheted back towards us and ended up in the cup holder in our cart.

Played Erin Hills last summer and bladed a ball out of a bunker, across the green and right into the mouth of the golf bag of a playing partner. "Nothing but Net" in a crazy golfing manner. Luckily one member of the group saw it go into the bag or I would have never found it.
Just an older guy with 7 or 8 clubs and a MacKenzie Walker bag

I think there is another thread about playing out of unrepaired divots.

I once hit a tee shot on 18th hole at a local muni that i pulled left and it flew into the maintenance shed. All you heard was that loud bouncing noise and workers running out of the building. I had the walk of shame down to look for it, i hit a provisional. Worker comes out and hands me the ball, i said sorry. He looks and goes no it is my fault, i was told to shut the doors and i didn't.

I couldnt stop laughing.

A few months back I was trying to punch out of trouble between two trees and missed slightly left.  My ball ricocheted straight back off the left tree, flew over my head, bounced straight forward off another tree about 20 feet behind me, and stopped less than a yard from my divot.  When my playing partners stopped laughing one of them offered me $100 if I could do that again.  I didn't bother taking the bet because I'd probably still be there trying to duplicate that.

I did not actually hit the ball into this bunker at Copper Creek, but thought it would be a funny spot when there was still some snow left at the beginning of last season.

The 3 pics below at the Raven were where my ball did actually end up in 2 on a par 5 3 or 4 years ago. I hit the shot first (over the green, IIRC) then placed a ball back for pictures (which is why you can see some damage to the tree).

I was playing golf in Las Vegas and I was in a green side bunker right of the green. I hit my shot thin and it went flying across the green and right into the aluminum flatbed of a maintenance workers cart. I have no idea how it managed to stay in the flatbed but half of Vegas could probably here it rattling around the flatbed.

In order to diffuse my own anger and entertain the other guys I climb into the flatbed with my wedge and put the ball in the middle of the flatbed. They all start laughing and the maintenance worker who must have been humor impaired said to me " you don't have to play if from there". I proceeded to hit a flop shot within 10 feet of the hole that all of Vegas could probably hear  and made the putt for bogey.

Sitting at a dining room table after a fun pro am. Guy I've never met before comes up to me and asks if I hooked it on 18. "I did" I say " never did find it though"

"Is this it?" He asks.

It's a Callaway Rule 35, with BH written in blue in big, block letters.

"Yep, that's mine" I say with a chuckle. "Where'd you find it?"

"On my driver's seat"

GULP

"Care for a beer?" I asked.

My ball went through his windshield and ended up in his Driver's seat.

I paid for a new windshield and never put my initials on a ball again. lol!!

We have a fox who thinks it's perfectly fine to steal your ball after you have hit  the fairway on this phone booth tight tree lined spectacle they call a golf course.  Cute little bugger but pain in the butt.  lol

Man this was a long time ago when I played on the Mini Tours in Florida. I tried to cut a dogleg on a par 5 and cut the crap out of the ball OB. Reload and fire again. Ended up making a snowman on the hole. More than likely cost me the tournament and it did cost me a small bundle in side bets. Fast forward to that night. We had hit the town partying as our norm ended up with some young ladies in the swimming pool at an apartment complex next to the course. Now remember I was more than half lit anyhow and had no idea we were next to that course. One of the guys was diving in the pool and came up and said "Hey Trailer Park (one of my nicknames in those days) I think this belongs to you" and tosses me a Professional Titleist 100 Balata  (told you it was a long time ago). It was mine with the 6 dots around the number. The apartment complex was next to the fairway on the hole I went OB on wonder I did not kill someone. We ended up burning that ball in Eulogy and they make some pretty colors burning up

I can remember a few

1.  Tee shot that ended up in the 2nd floor bedroom of a house to the right of the fairway.  Right through the open sliding glass door.
2.  Embedded in the side of a stucco house just off the left side of the fairway.
3.  My wife embedded a ball in a sandstone cliff just off the right side of a fairway.

I've seen dozens of balls hanging in palm trees.  Happens all the time.  They go up, in and never seen again! Until Irma hit last week and there were dozens and dozens of golf balls all over the course under palm trees.

I was playing with some friends, and one of them hit a shot just into the trees. He and the guy sharing the cart go look for it, and the guy who hit the shot finds it in a hole between the roots of a big tree that an animal has dug. As the other two of us are coming to help look he announces he found it, and goes to grab a club to pull the ball out of the hole, because he doesn't want to stick his hand in there just in case the animal is still there.

The guy he's riding with is notorious for having to pee every other hole, and he decides while he's in the trees and the other guy is getting his club is a good time to answer nature's call. Not realizing exactly where his partner found his ball, he selected the tree where the guy's ball was, and pee'd right in the hole.  The ball's owner turns around, club in now hand, sees what's going on and announces he's decided to abandon it.

Middle of the fairway, normal right? Well a coyote came trotting out of the desert had a little sniff of my golf ball then proceeded to drop a deuce right on top of my golf ball.

430 yard par 4, snap hooked one off the tee. Hits the parking lot of the function facility next to the hole, bounces off the building, bounces through the parking lot back in bounds, 20 yards from the green.

Naturally I skulled the chip 30 yards over the green and wound up making double.

Under the couch... I used a three wood to tee off on a short par four. There was a small creek that ran diagonally across the fairway and so I wanted to be more accurate and miss the creek. Didn't happen, the creek is a golf ball magnet, and of course I hit a drive that found its way right down into it, and disappeared. I quit looking for the ball after a few minutes, as this was in our league and wanted to keep things moving. I did have my name on the golf ball in red sharpie. Fast forward to a couple of weeks later, and my wife, a half-marathon runner was doing some exercises in the living room while I was on WRX. She said "Oh, this is yours", and reached under the couch and pulled out that same golf ball. I was flummoxed of course. She said she had been shopping, and ran into this couple who are friends of ours in the parking lot, and the guy said, "Hey, I've got something for you to give to your husband".. so he gave her that same golf ball that he had found in that little creek with my name on it that day, and he picked it out and saved it for me. She had brought it home, and had been using it to massage under her feet after running and in preparation for her upcoming half marathon.  So yeah, that's my funniest place story for you....
