Anyone ever buy a driver from global golf in value condition? I'm looking to get a 917D2 or an M2 cheap, but not sure how safe it is to buy in value condition. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Had some irons in value condition that were very good after a cleaning. I'd say the drivers might have some sky marks, luck of the draw possibly.

I've only bought one driver from Global.  It was a 1998 Great Big Bertha, value condition, bought for a pal five or six years ago.  It still had dirt on the face, and the grip was literally crumbling.  I cleaned and polished it with car wax, regripped it for my friend, and included a nice Callaway head cover to match.  It looked really great, and I never told my pal how I received it.  He's still probably extolling Global Golf's virtues.

I bought a value 845 replacement iron a few months ago.  Wasn't in the best condition, price was right.  I filed down a sharp spot on the sole, polished the club, and regripped it.  Came out OK.

In my cases, those very old clubs were in decent condition.  You can't expect Global to have someone put a half hour in polishing, and an extra cost in a grip.  I do believe the clubs should have the dirt washed off, though.

Total crap shoot
I've had value clubs that were in great condition, and then some that were just trashed
usually the pricing is great for value, so really you get what you pay for at that level in my mind

I don't know how cheap you're looking for but I'd suggest Callaway Pre-owned. They have a "other brands" section and do have the M2 there. Everything I've bought from them has been better than expected and I'm almost positive they put a new grip on any club no matter the condition. I believe they also have grip upgrade options as well. Excellent customer service.

Usually the M2s in value condition have a scuff or a chip on the white part of the crown. Sometimes you get lucky. Value/Bargain condition is really luck of the draw as someone said. It's kind of fun though, it's like unwrapping a mystery. If you're anal retentive about your clubs, stay away from value. If not, some good deals can be had.

Global Golf will be happy to ship you a completely roached club.

I would plan on it being a piece of garbage.  You might get lucky, but probably not.

I tried them for one wedge.  They had one that matched my set, that nobody else had, and listed in 'very good' condition.  Grooves were basically gone when I received it, and the only option they gave was for me to pay to ship it back to them.

Lesson learned.  Will never buy a club without several close-up photos again.  Will never use Global again.

Buy from a good seller here on the BST, as nearly everyone takes the time to post decent photos.

Callaway preowned is probably the best in terms of getting used stuff. Their average/value is generally very good condition... and if you don't like the club they let you return it for a refund (if you haven't hit it). Even if you've hit it like 100 times, you can generally still exchange it for the current value of the product for something else.

I've gotten pretty good stuff from global, 2nd, and DallasGolf, but I never buy the value price because it's almost limitless as to how bad it goes... since there's nothing worse than value.

I've purchased a dozen items from Global but in either very good to excellent condition. Every item has been better than expected. Worth mentioning Golf Avenue as well, had two great better than expected purchases from them and they use actual photos.

I have only purchased drivers in Very Good (an M2 and M2) and was very happy. I have bought a wedge and 2 hybrids in value and they all pleased me when they showed up.

usually that white paint flakes off so I would assume a value M2 would look pretty beat up.

I ordered a "very good" iron set off of Global Golf recently.  They turned out to be in excellent condition, better than I expected.  If I were you I'd get "very good" just to be safe.

As some other posters have mentioned, other sites like 3 Balls, 2nd Swing, or Golf Avenue (Canadian) have pics of the actual club.  Buy from those sites if you don't want to gamble.

I got this LH M1 in value condition earlier in the week.  The club face is a pretty good representation of the rest of the club.  Even came with a No1 grip in great condition.  It's really hit or miss with the woods.  I have never sent anything back and I order frequently from the value headed clubs. It's not perfect but I would have put it in 'very good'  rating myself.

Definitely a roll of the dice. You can get some awesome prices when you stack discount codes. Expect top line, crown, face, sole wear on drivers woods and there is a good chance iron faces will be close to browning or already worn down. But sometimes you'll receive a club/iron that's totally clean/ very good condition.

I'm steering clear of them... they used to be great, value items used to be much better than expected, but the last few "very good" items I have tried were beat to crap.  Like, not even close to stated condition.  I'll echo the sentiment that I will not buy anything without actual pics anymore.  Too much of a hassle to have to send it back.  Not saying you won't have better luck but I would go in with low expectations.

Value drivers, FWs and hybrids are THE best way to go with global.  Every one of these I have bought has been in better than expected condition.  Some need some clean up but I have yet to get a sky mark, it's the only way to go IMO.

I've bought a value condition 915D2 from them and was very happy with the condition. A value condition XR 16 I got with the same order had a couple small chips along the top line, but it wasn't trashed.

That being said, I'd expect a Value driver with white paint to look fairly poor but be perfectly playable.

Just picked up a cobra biocell hybrid in "very good condition" .  The crown is perfect and looks like it may have been hit a dozen or so times.  Also, the grip (golf pride) looks new. Price was right ($42). Very pleased.
