Jhonny Vegas man, what a name. I love Rory and he seems like such an awesome, down to earth dude, but Johnny just seems like a massive teddy bear. I remember when he won the RBC Canadian Open this year and his wife and child came on the green to celebrate with him. Seems like such an awesome family man and a gentle giant. What a great experience buddy, I'm sure something you'll remember for the rest of your life. Thank you for sharing so eloquently.

Thank you for your service

Also for that picture

That should end the debate about how tall Rory is if you are 5 11

Yeah, I was very surprised - small guy and he just bombs the ball.

Thanks for your service and story!

Justin Thomas and Rickie are also small but they still bomb their shots too, it's all about effectiveness of impact!

Thank you for your service!  I'm glad you had a fantastic experience inside the ropes and Happy Anniversary to you and your wife.  As a Marine, I wondered if you knew that Chesty Puller's grandson, Lewis B Puller III was a TOUR caddie for many years?  He's mostly retired now but steps in from time to time for a few players.  He looks just like his grandfather.

Seriously?? I have never heard that, but I would love to look into this! Chesty is a saint in any Marines eye.

Google 'Lewis Puller golf' and you'll see home pictures of him on the bag.  He last caddied for Matt Every at Quicken Loans this year, so he's around every now and then.  He's a great human, just like his grandfather.

Really enjoyed the read - thank you Dan.  Your enthusiasm spilled out of the text so that it felt like we were all walking down the fairway with you.  Well done!

Saying that Rory was an equipment guy was not unexpected but I think there might have been some mutual admiration.  Same goes for JV.   Being a Crew Chief for a Super Stallion is genuinely interesting in itself.  And that is a serious piece of equipment that would require dedicated crews to operate and maintain.  Respect mate.

Thanks so much! I'm still trying to get around to finishing the hole by hole and I've truly found something I've enjoyed - writing. I'm hoping I can keep everyone engaged long enough though!
