Pulling out my 6 hybrid for a 145 yard approach to the green (15 years ago it was an 8 iron).  But then again, I'm extremely thankful that technology changes to golf equipment have me still playing from the men's tees.   I am also old enough that I don't care what any other golfer thinks about my senior club assortment.

I'm still shy of 40, but... getting called 'sir' by a younger woman... it gets to me.  Cart girls?  Bartenders?  My daughter's teachers?

They call me 'sir' and it's like I'm being punched in the gut.

On the course, if I get paired with some of the young kids out at the club and they start talking about how they were born in 1997... I automatically want to go jump in the pond.  That's the year I graduated high school... which, to me, was just last year.  Then I have that realization that 20 years has passed and, well...
Same story here.  Kid that works at my shop was born two months after I graduated high school.

The fact that the cart girls don't try to pick me up anymore tells me that I'm truly over the hill.

Sean Connery, (the original and best James Bond), turned 87 today...Yeah, that makes me feel old!... :swoon:

That makes  Connery a year older than Regis Philbin who also celebrates his Birthday today!...Regis is a youthful 86 years of age...

Hats off to both!... :hi:

The Name is Bond, James Bond!

I started feeling old when I started taking people to jail with a birth year of 1999, my rookie year.  Before that was when I dealt with 1992 birth dates, the year I graduated high school.

It all becomes better when I go home and see my wife, who is 11 years younger than me. It's like an instant fountain of youth.  #cradlerobber #whoneedsviagrawhenyouhaveahotwife :superman2:

Went to Primus with the family. I saw them in '92, bought a couple albums shortly thereafter. Great show by the way, but...

The college kids behind us were heard saying during a lull, "Dude! That old guy actually knows the songs."

Prior to that moment I was a youngster enjoying a great show. After that moment I was an out of place geriatric presumably chaperoning his daughter.

Facing the the cold, hard truth that I no longer score better when I'm walking versus when I ride in a cart. I'm sure it doesn't help that my home course is really hilly.

I still prefer walking, but knowing that I'm probably giving up a couple of shots doing it makes it tough not to grab a cart, especially if there is any sort of wagering involved.

When someone asks me my age my pat answer is always "I'm 56, but I eat right and exercise and I have the body of a 55  and three quarter year old". Of course I replace the age every year.

I recently realized I now make a little grunting noise when I bend down to tee it up or pick up a ball. It's totally involuntary. It just comes out. What the hell is that? I thought it would take a lot longer to get old.
The absolute perfection of existence, life, and aesthetic beauty is the work not only of evolution but of a powerful being.
