There has been a lot of rumors about new releases from a lot of OEMs in the past two weeks. What is the usual timeline before release that they start to pop up on the USGA conforming list/site? I feel like we usually see that stuff by now if they come out in a month or so?

Will release in November. Not sure seeding date has been set yet... I assume after the Tour Championship.

I doubt it's named M4. Taylormade likes to appeal to the Asian market and 4 is bad luck.

Taylormade should hold a forum contest and let Golf WRX name it. We all submit, TM picks their favorite 5 and we vote using a poll in the forum.

To top the Epic I suggest the Taylormade Legendaryballz. It's a terrible name but still better than Jetspeed.

Haha, true. I guess I should have said it's hard to stay #1 when your competitor outsells you in your specialty category for 7 months in a row.

They should, but they were losing truckloads of money when they were #1. Hopefully new ownership fixes that.

With the new wrap around tour schedule, I believe most companies will start seeding new products after the Tour Championship (start of new season) and releases will be end of November - October. Players aren't going to want to make major equipment changes at the end of the season so this makes sense.

Rumor is that they hired the guy who came runner up in the Wilson TV show to come in and bling it out as well.

I hope this is a terrible lie

what part

3 sliding weight tracks, "turbulators", and "bling:" for starters....M1/M2 is the best looking driver in my opinion (I play the Epic SZ) i would hate for them to bling out or add bumps to the crown.

How do you like it? 440 seems perfect to me. 430 too small, 460 too big.

Love it! I've always liked it smaller than the 460. Numbers were minimal in difference, so I definitely went with what was most comfortable in hand.

No it wasn't. That's what the sales rep told my friend. By "bling it out" I meant working out the adjustability. Granted sales reps usually hardly know more than people on this site so I don't know how accurate it is.

My apologies then.  I heard they are scrapping the sliding track and going back to MWT.  I guess we will find out soon.

Went to go edit my post and accidentally deleted it. Anyway, perhaps my friend misunderstood and it's changeable weights instead of sliding weights. Hopefully pics will surface soon and put any conjecture to rest.

Not an insider and I usually don't get any pre-release info but I stumble upon some here about this driver today. I was talking with a a Taylormade staffer (teaching pro) who just returned from a TM sponsored trip to see the new 790s and 730s. He said the new driver will be out for testing this fall but will not be released until spring. I am sure it will be at the PGA show though. The big news is that TM has figured out a way to do their own "jailbreak" of sorts. They will be doing it using the speedfoam they are using in the 790s. It will be behind the face and I am guessing it will be in some sort of pocket or cavity because they can't fill the whole head can they? Not sure how speedfoam will be able to connect the crown and sole to prevent flexing but I'm not an engineer. He said that they have been able to keep up relatively well with Epic with their current technology but with this added to what they have now, they will be well back in front of Callaway in ball speed numbers again. I got no details on adjustability, sliding weights or the like. I would guess this technology will just be added to an M1/M2 type driver head. I have no reason to doubt this person but as always, I am sure these details will be directional and not exact. Sounds good to me though.

When I got fitted for a potential M1 / M2 two weeks ago my guy rang his Taylormade rep when I asked "How long before a new one is out before I pull the trigger" and was told the new model will be out in March / April next year.

That's confirmed...unless they leak pics at the PGA show

Hopefully we will not have to wait that long...  Rumors are that the new drivers will start showing up on tour around the BMW championship.

Greaaaat.. My 2 months old 17 M1 440 is already obsolete...

I'm right there with ya man. 3 weeks old... TM makes some amazing stuff, just kind of sucks that they are so damn fast with new equipment sometimes.
