hey all.
I see a number of posts about the wrx community in other areas, but none that I find abouut Mn?
I'm a 12 hc, hoping to get back to single digits this year. About to be 51 yrs old and my regular golf buddy's new wife has taken to golf.
Hoping to maybe find a few who might enjoy a playing partner occasionally?
Play all courses around the twin cities and western Wi.
Also like to travel for golf outings a few times a year.

I'm in northern Iowa and would definately be interested in an outing. Rochester or T.C. area would be perfect. I use to travel all over SW MN, would be fun to make a trip out that way as well. Keep me in the loop!

Has anyone played Wedgewood Cove in Albert lea?  $75.00 play all day with cart. Sounds like a good place for an outing. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm in Australia for the off season. I work at a course in Woodbury on the east side of St Paul. I might even be able to put something together if there is enough interest.

How about a saturday in May? Maybe the first or third weekend? I can help set this up if you guys want. Not sure if you guys are interested in playing one round or doing the all day thing. The 75.00 all day rate sounds really good to me. I have not played this course but it looks nice according to their website and last years MNgolfer magazine. I am an 8 hdcp. I will probably bring around 2-4 guys with me with hdcp ranging from 5-15 but I would like to play with new people. Any ideas on groups or games?

WOW, can we tell that we are all damn tired of old man winter!! I am thrilled about the surge of interest in a group outing. Hintzd, If you would be take the reigns on this, that would be great. I like the all day thing. I play with another group that does a 2 round mix with the first round as a handi and the second round as a team best ball. Also the obgligatory CTP and long drive.
I really could do some planning but I have the next 6 wks with an absolute overloaded schedule. ( this includes one week in Playa Del Carmen, playin' Mayakoba and Playacar courses). If we do get this going I will step up for a later date.

Hey, I'm also from Rochester!

There's a golf expo at Somerby on Saturday from 9-2. I'll probably check it out because I'm ready for the courses to open up and wouldn't mind taking a look at Somerby.

Have not played Somerby. I did chat with one who did play and described it as best in state. I think its a private, is it not? Have played a few of Lehman designs and like them. Played The Gallery in Az. Absolutly beautiful course. #9 is 725yd par 5 from the back.

Somerby is private whysguy. I have played it a couple of times with a member because I can't afford to join, not that I necessarily would if I could. I wouldn't say it is the best in the state, but it is nice. There are a lot of good course in the TC and up in the Brainerd area that are pretty comparable with Somerby. It is fun to play though and will most every time I have the chance. If you get the opportunity to play you should give it a try.

I always like to try new. Its kinda why I'm not a member of private. My wife's whole family are members at Oak Ridge here in the Twin Cities, but I travel around town a lot and like to throw my bag down where and when I can. Pretty had to justifly the membership pricetag and then play elsewhere. I also do believe that variety leads to a better game. The downside is that I dont have a regular group or play league. I did this week get an offer to play in a Wed. afternoon gathering but I dont like the course much. (Rum River Hills). But I do enjoy the guys, so maybe.

Yeah , Rum River not so much. If your looking for a Wednesday night league. Northfork isant to fare from RR they have a 18 hole mens league that s all day every wednesday great group ,Skins,gross and net and every week they play some kind of game.like beat the pro or Gm

Live in St. Paul, MN.  Play all over the Twin Cities during the summer.  Prefer the east because of location, but an outing can always be fun anywhere in state.

So I just got off the phone with the golfcourse in Albert Lea (Wedgewood Cove). The day that will work for them is May 1st. Talking to the proshop they recommend our tee-times starting at 8:00 am. The all day rate is 75.00 and it includes a cart. Depending on how many golfers we have they will be providing lunch. I need a head count so we could get this on paper. Please post on here if you are interested in going. When you post could you say if you are interested in just 18 or the all day rate and let me know your handicap so we could plan some events. You don't have to do the all day rate, I just need to let them know so they could adjust your price. Please feel free to invite other golfers the more the merrier. Just provide their info.
