Any other good storage ideas for the hoarding? I fear I've joined the crowd with the RZN Platinum practice deal.

I would think the only elements that could potentially damage the ball are directly sunlight, heat/cold, and air exposure.

Maybe get some of those vacuum bags to compress clothes, and then store them inside in a closet.
Don't laugh but that is what I do with some of my balata balls I use when playing vintage golf

It's kinda like ammo.
God knows you can't have too much ammo.

But "new" ammo has an expiration date....old ammo, not so much
It keeps well if you use military style sealed ammo cans. Last week on vacation I went to a shooting range and burned off about 100 rounds in my .380 that were about 15 years old or older. No duds or hang ups. Of course I replaced what I used with new

Now I am up to about 28 dozen or so.  Some of which I picked the Nike balls in a bigger quantity than needed cause me and another guy was gonna split them.  Well, he decided to only take two dozen so now I have like 5-7 dozen too many.

It a very good ball but I normally just use yellow balls so I have a bunch of Chrome Soft's and B330RX's in yellow plus a few dozen yel/black Truvis and even a couple of dozen other white ones so way too many!
I don't think I've used 28 dozen golf balls in my entire golf life, I just don't lose that many. The problem with having a large hoard of golf balls is that when he want to try something new what do you do with the horde that you previously bought? Many people like to change golf balls like they do putters or drivers.
"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist."

Me neither!  I also don't think I ever owned 28 dozen golf balls at one time or even all together!  lol  I did play yesterday and today and managed to lose a couple of golf balls each day.  The ones lost yesterday were from my hoard but the ones from today were a couple of found balls that are real nice balls that I kept to try out.  If I get more than a 3-5 odd ones then I do a "purge" and only used the found ones in that round.  When I find some that I won't play which is most of the time, I usally just leave them in the cart or give them to someone on the course that I run into or catch up to them at a tee box!

I did manage to sell my buddy 4 dozen balls today and another guy 3 dozen so getting down there!  I have about 5 brands/models and will get down to 2 or 3 brands/models before I am done cleaning house!

Man golf ball hoarding is such a slippery slope. I used to only buy 3-4 dozen at a time when they're on sale. But after scouring the internet/forums for deals, the dozens start to add up. I'm at 14 dozen now (9 dozen pro v1x, 2 dozen tp5, 1 dozen tp5x, 2 dozen srixon zstar) and it only took about 4-5 months. I play 6 rounds a month and don't lose all that many, and I find maybe 1-2 playable balls per round which means I hardly dent my stock. And yet I keep adding to the collection. It's a sickness, I suppose.

Spoken like a true enabler lol!

Now if I can just get through these 3s, 2s, and 1s, I can get to playing my beloved #5s

I'm nowhere near the 20+ dozen crowd but I definitely have a stack of balls in the garage. I just like trying all of the new balls out there and I keep adding to the stack. I had to make a promise to myself that I can't buy any more until the stack is completely gone.
