I completely understand shorter par 5's for age or ability.

That's why I mentioned his age and experience

If I were to start getting  eagle opps on every round..i would have to move back to champion tees

Just heading home from Scotland. Reached 4 par 5s in two in 8 rounds had 3 pretty reasonable looks inside 30 feet shortest was a 9 footer. 4 two putt birdies. Little bummed none dropped but tap in birdies always good

Not sure. I'm 25 now. I usually make about 3-4 per year. This year has been an odd one I have about 8 or 10 of them. Only 2 of those have been hole outs.

I've been playing for 33 years.  I have no idea how many eagles I've had.  100, 150, maybe??  I just don't know.  I can point to my old home course, and be positive that I've had at least 25 on that course alone, and I can think of a bunch at various courses throughout the years, but still can't put an accurate number to the tally.  Just had one last weekend, which was my 4th eagle this year.  They are rare these days, because my home course (where I play 90% of the time) is REALLY difficult- no driveable par4's, only one par 5 is reachable for me, and lastly I'm getting old.

Playing for almost 35 years.   Had three eagles and one hole in one.  Two eagles on par 5 and one on par 4 plus hole in one.

Been playing consistently for over a year and came close to an eagle on short par 4 I drove the ball 315 over a big hazard type bush in the middle of the fairway ball landed on the green but there was standing water that slowed it down and I two putted for birdie.... had there been no water ball would have rolled closer with an easier chance at eagle

I'll revisit this just a little bit. I'm shocked at the lack of eagles dropped. I play a ton of courses that'll give you multiple eagle looks a round if you play the hole aggressively. I'm not even talking long hitters. My most played course has 4 reachable par 4's if you can play it 300 (or even 280) and the two fives are Driver and 7i or less (usually a W of some sort) on decently struck shots. This has been a very slow year when tallying up eagles. I've probably missed 20 putts from under 20' or it would be better. Two years ago I had two on the same nine to shoot a nine in the twenties. That was bucket list for me, and yes it had a "9" attached to the end of the 2. Not really a great achievement as any tour pro would be there at least some of the time. It was the only nine I've ever played where I made every putt that "maybe should" be made, IE under 15ft or so.

By any reckoning other than GolfWRX, those able to drive 280-300 yard holes routinely are "long hitters"!

Most of my golf has been on 6300 - 6500 yd courses.  I am not very long off the tee.  Other than 5 aces, most of my eagles have been hole outs from fairway (maybe 25).  Thirty years ago had an albatross in a tournament (513 yds.).   Best streak was -7 in five holes in "Ryder Cup" match.

Started saturday with eagle then double bogeyed 2. Lipped a put for eagle on 17 as well. Would average out to an eagle every 3 or 4 rounds I think. Helps when I can hit the ball a fair distance if I manage to hit 2 straight ones on a par 5 on my home course im pretty much putting on all the par 5s.

Been playing for 22 years, first eagle I remember was aged 14 at Sugarbush CC in Michigan. I forget what hole but I hit a 3 wood my uncle gave me the day before 13 titleist PT x100 to 12 feet on a par 5 and rolled in the putt, by far my favorite fairway wood. I'm by no means the longest hitter, but it seems like I'm able to get at one par 5 a round maybe more depending on the course. I did hole out for 2 once on a par 5 though that was cool! :)

Add one more to the tally.  Holed a 95-yard wedge shot yesterday for eagle - it hit a few feet to the right and long of the pin, spun back and left, into the hole.
Interesting round yesterday - 78, which included 1 eagle, 1 whiff (trying to hit a Hero shot with a hybrid out of deep rough, and went right underneath it), and 1 hosel rocket.

My home course has 3 par 5's that are fairly easily reachable in 2 for longish (260 and up) hitters and 1 par 4 that is reachable for the guys who can get it out there over 285. I don't actually have any idea how many eagles I have in a year because that's not something I've ever thought to keep track of. I have 5 or 6 hole outs from the fairway for eagle plus, if I had to guess 15-20 on the 5s over the course of the year and plenty of tap in birdies. These things don't matter to me as much as the number at the end of the round which they obviously help, but aren't the end all for me.

I can absolutely tell you how many double eagles and aces I have, but that's a different thread all together.

I've had quite a few eagles over 25 years of playing as a mid-high handicap - at least 2-dozen. As my handicap has dropped, I've had fewer eagles - I'm much more concerned about course management these days and don't care that much about making the "big score". I've had a few over the past 2 years - one hole-in-one and a couple on short Par 5s. In the past, I used to try to reach <300 yd holes in 1. Today, I'm probably going to hit a 5-iron off the tee and try to hit a full wedge into the green and try for birdie. I'm also not in the business of trying to reach par-5s when I'm outside of around 210. I won't hit the 3 wood off the deck unless absolutely necessary. Also, improved irrigation on my "home" course has turned an eagleable hole into one where I'm seldom in range to reach the elevated green in 2. It was much easier when the fairway was not quite as lush at it currently is.

10 years.

My home course has only one Part 5 reachable in two, so not seeing many chances.  No driveable Par 4s there either.  Old home club Ive got one real, one questionable.

Downhill dog right part 5. Tee shot was 290, approach 220 pin high and putting from the fringe.

The other was to a temp green par 4 that normally plays 385.  I hit a monster drive (downhill) for a kick in "eagle."

Been playing seriously for just over 18 months now and have 2. First one was a lucky 9 iron on a par 4. Then the following day on the same course, par 5 in two which left me with a 25 yard part with serious undulation. Didn’t even line it up and was just hoping to get it close. Hit it and started walking towards the cup and watching the cute college girl run down the walking trail along side the course instead of paying attention to the ball. And then I hear it drop. Didn’t realize it was an eagle till I got to the next hole. First hole in one today on a 225 yard par 3. 3 iron and saw it hit the green but couldn’t see the cup. Get to the green and don’t see my ball, I’m pissed. Take a drop after searching forever and then I found the first ball in the hole! 1 was much better then the double bogey!

Well, I'll be, I love this thread.  Since I posted in it, I've made two more eagles, bringing my total for 2017 to six.  The latest was Saturday- hit a 3wood from 255, to about 6 feet, rolled the putt right in the middle.

I've made a bunch of eagles, and 2 albies........I've always been pretty long, so I've holed a bunch of wedges.  I think my focus would be on how many chances I've had vs. how many I've made (putting). That % is LOW.  I  don't count driveable par-4's, especially the way the ball flies compared to when I was young. They're a par 3 1/2 anyway......lol

IMO it's gotta be at least 250 yards to be a Par 4...which means there's no such thing as a drivable Par 4 for me!

30+ years with this game.

Around 20 + - eagles, but a lot more chance at it over the years.  Seemed I lost the excitement after the first handful, it's just another hole.   I'd be more alert if I 'm going under par for the round.
Most are with the par 5 holes and a few par 4's, but no hole in one , yet.

I missed my opportunity for getting the rarest of them all.  The albatross.  Lost of distance made it impossible to even get close.

I've been a member of my club for 22 years.  I recently went hole by hole remembering which holes I've eagled over the years.  Turns out I've eagled 13 of 18 holes at least once over the years, 2 being holes-in-one on the same par 3.

I've had one double eagle, but at a different course.

IMO it's gotta be at least 250 yards to be a Par 4...which means there's no such thing as a drivable Par 4 for me!

You know, come to think about it one of my few eagles came on what some people would consider a "driveable" Par 4. It was about 275 from the tees I was playing and I had a breeze behind me. So I tried to hood down my driver and hit a big running hook up toward the front of the green.

Made an awful swing, blocked it into the trees about 70 yards short of the green...then holed out a sand wedge shot off the hardpan and pine straw for my eagle.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

I've had one Eagle opportunity in my life, thanks to a cart path and a fortuitous bounce.
I made my first birdie there, but it was all pretty lucky.

Haven't hit a green in two ever since, and rarely do I ever try.

It's an eagle opportunity any time your approach shot can reach the green!

No idea how many total in my life, probably 30+, but lately I average about 1-2 per year. In my 20s I accumulated a lot more, before my back started fighting back on me. My first was at age 15, about 5 years into playing, when I finally started developing some power. I've eagled back to back holes before on a 275 par 4 then a par 5. Only 1 thus far this year.
