Titleist Z•M Forged irons are high performance, muscle back forged irons with traditional feel, superior looks and shot control for the highly skilled player.
The contemporary Z muscle design precisely distributes weight from the heel into the toe, locating the center of gravity in the center of the face for solid feel.
The traditional profile of the Z•M Forged irons includes minimal progressive offset for Tour validated ball flight, trajectory control and workability. The high performance, narrow sole reduces skipping in firm conditions while appropriate bounce reduces digging.
Z•M Forged irons also feature dual hosel lengths with a shorter hosel in the long irons to bias weight low for improved launch and a longer hosel in the mid and short irons to manage flight.
Hmm.. is nobody playing these irons? i bought a set a few months back after selling my callaway x-forged. these irons set up really nicely. Also, they are fairly foregiving for blades. I have the s-300 DG (s) shafts and love them. These will probably stay in the bag for a long while.
I bought my ZM's in August after many years hitting Pings. They are the first forged blade set that I have played in many years. I love them. They are much easier to hit than I thought. Even at my relatively advanced age, I have had very little adjustment issues (after the obligatory first month or so of re-learning how to hit a golf club on the sweet spot). I have found that my accuracy has been greatly improved and my distance is very nearly the same as my old I3+ blades. I may be in the minority but I think they are a beautiful club as well. They are a joy to set up over. Overall, I can't find anything to carp about. I still amazes me that people would pay 50% more to buy a top of the line GI set.
Not much different from the 695 MB but thought they were slightly better looking. Nice low penetrating ball flight with workabilty. Going to be in my bag for quite some time.
Good. But not good enough to eject a set of 690.mb's from the bag.
One of the best arguments I can think of to recommend MB's like the ZM - you aren't faced with the decision to replace them every 6 months when something new comes out. They are generally ageless. 690's and ZM's will be around for several seasons. Can you say that about the annual harvest of GI's, etc.?
I love these clubs!!! I am an 8 handicap and this past September I made the decision to really work on my siwng and devlope a swing that can take me as far as I want to go with the game...I have been working with a coach since September and things are coming along very well (I had a lot of bad habits to over come)...Anyway around October we started playing around with different clubs to see if it helped me set up better and he had a set of MacGregor blades that he let me hit and I would consistently set up so much better to these then I did to my Ping I10's. I also hit darn near everyhting on the middle of the club or slightly toward the heel...so we made the decision to switch clubs as my swing was improving and through testing a bunch of different irons I went with the ZM's...I really love the look of this club and it sets up so well for me...as others have said it is even more forgiving then I would have thought for a blade (fist set of blades I have ever owned)...I have through the 4 iron with DG-X100 shafts and we are now talking about getting the three iron as we are re-building my entire set slowly as we see what my swing is going to be like.

Very nice set of clubs, and I agree with your reasoning. One question, do you find you have a large gap between the 17° 909H, and your #4 iron, or has that combination worked well for you?
Just changed to these from TM MB TP (Satin). Really annoyed at TM bringing out new stuff every month and destroying the value of your clubs, so I decided that all TM gear would be dumped from my bag forever. (To be fair they the MB TP's are v. good irons)
Originally had settled on the new MP62's but saw these in the shop and they looked so beautiful. I remebered how solid and good a previous 905R was so decided to go with Titleist and couldn't be happier.
They are more forgiving than I expected, but this is relative. Any swipes at the ball will be punished, as they should be, and you do need to practice with these to get the best out of them - obvious as with any set of blades or muscle backs
They are heavy and very solid, and the ball flight is good and controlled. The 8-pw are excellent for working the ball and knockdown shots
Are they better than the MP62's?
I don't know. Certainly the MP62's are more forgiving and feel much softer.
The ZM's have a very noticable click on the sweetspot and cannot be described as "buttery", but I like this solid click now that I have gotten used to it.
These will stay in the bag for a long time

M Factor, what mcgregors did you have?
I played Jack Nicklaus 802's for 4 years after high school. I had a 20 handicap back then and used to hit 30 yards right a decent amount, specially with my 2&3 iron. I tried to get something more forgiving so I went for a set of x-20 tours w/ the 6.0 shaft. Now I am straight to 10 yards right but sacraficed alot of feel. I'm looking to go back to a nice blade and have hit the x-forged and got some feel back. I would rather go to a true blade however because of the narrower sole that doesnt drag on the dirt and how light they feel in your hand. The other thing I noticed from the X-20 tour was that it felt a bit heavier in my hands than the 802's, which I didn't care for. I love the look of the macgregor mt pro-m and the ZM, but look isn't everything.
Do you know how the Cally' x-forged compare to the ZM's??
I switched from the 690mb's to these and couldn't be happier. I made the switch a little under a year ago and enjoy the more forgiving feel of them, due to the Z cut in the back. I'm a college golfer and demand the best out of my clubs, and haven't had any misgivings about buying these. If you say that they're the 695's just pretty'd up a little bit then you haven't hit both clubs at the same time. I wouldn't play the 695's if someone gave them to me, they may be the worst club Titleist has ever made. I'm sure the guys in the R&D department went back to the drawing board after the flop when they released those clubs, and feel they have it right now.
If you're serious about getting consistent shot making then these clubs will make you happy. Though I would like to see if Titleist would bring back a club that looks more like the old "T" irons or even the 600 series irons. Solid clubs.
