How do you test new clubs to ensure they have that "EPON feel" before you bring them to retail?

Why did you decide not to have epon on the wedge?

Since the wedge has a graphite shaft, did you see any performance difference between steel and graphite?

Does the wedge come with different grinds?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.

What are the most popular lofts? Any major differences in loft preferences between geographical regions such as in the USA, European, and Asian markets?

How important is having the right bounce and grind for amateurs that may not deliver the clubhead into the ball consistently? Does Epon believe in fitting for these parameters and if so what is looked at during the fitting process? Thank you.

When you design a new wedge do you feel bounce or the type of grind has more effect on playability?  And is there a concerted effort to marry the two, i.e. do certain grinds work better with a specific bounce?

How does Epon decide when to bring a new product to market?  Predetermined cycle, consumer requests, inspiration, or something else?

Welcome and thank you for stopping by golfwrx and giving us all an opportunity to ask some questions.

I have some questions regarding your forging practices.
1. Which Endo factory will your north america clubs be forged in?
2. From what I've heard, your company uses extremely tight forging tolerances through your Endo forging facility in Japan. Is it true that your forgings are within 6 grams of the final club weight?? I was truly impressed to hear that and would love to know if it's true.
3. Are all Endo forging facilities held to the same standards as the Japan facilities?

Additionally I have some questions about your drivers, woods, and hybrids.
1. Are these clubs also forged by Endo?
2. What are some of the technology advantages that your drivers/woods/hybrids offer over other companies' current models?
3. Do you have any intentions of creating new drivers/woods/hybrids with moveable weights to aid with a draw/fade bias?

Epon seems to focus on traditional styles for their wedges and irons; how from a design perspective do you differentiate yourself from the rest of the marketplace?

I've heard that some companies use different grooves types depending on wedge type/loft.
Is this hype or is there an advantage to this?
Does Epon have a specific type of groove that enhances "bite" or "stopping power" into the green?

How have you determined which grind options to offer for your wedges?  It seems like there are not multiple grind options for each loft.  Do you think this limits potential customers, who are used to the multitude of grind options that the big tour presence brands offer?

Will we ever see copper finishes again?

I was always impressed with how long the 302 was sold without a change, people were still paying full price many years after introduction. Are you switching to a more traditional Oem release pattern of every year or two?  It seems like there have been many more models released recently than in past years by Epon.

Team Epon, thanks for being here.

I gotta say your wedges are simply beautiful, such simplicity with a sculptural form. I can't help but think that has a strong influence on the feel of the clubs. What is the primary driver of your design process ... objective performance data or more subjective look and feel factors?

Welcome! I have read that the JDM market has had to adjust to the aging market in Japan by offering clubs designed for older golfers. If so, how is this reflected in Epon designs?

Thank you.

When you are designing new clubs to bring to market, what is your starting point? Is it designing to maximize the feel in the irons or the playability or any other set of variables?

Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time...

Is there a personal 4 in the making?
Do you think epon will ever make an iron more angled lines a more square appearance over rounded edges?
Do you think epon will make a main stream iron with just the small epon logo?
How many golfwrx'r does it take to convince japan to bring different finishes to the states?
What would you like to see in the replacement of the 503 iron?

Thanks again for doing this
Under construction....

Thanks for taking the time to join us!

The forgings and feel are what make Endo/Epon Forgings legendary.  Where does the specific forged feel of your forging house come from?  Is it a specific type of metal or is it in the forging process, or is it something else like the Colonel's secret recipe?

From the video on your site you stated that the overlapping laser milled grooves help with spin in wet conditions.  How does that help in wet conditions different than other grooves on the market?

I'm always looking to find the iron that packs plenty of forgiveness and distance but looks more like a player's iron.  What design factors do you consider in trying to achieve these goals I've mentioned?
